Hello All

Please suggest me THE FASTER, nice and easy to handle car of 400 and 450 PP đź’ˇ

Thank you

The new gt86

Agreed. A very fast car for this PP level.

A car that I used in GT4 a lot, but only in GT5 for the first time last night is the Mercedes 190 Evo II, and found that to be slightly harder to turn, but slightly faster in a straight line than the Toyota GT86 (especially off the start line). It is also a lot more fun to drive and provides terrific feedback when it's about to understeer or oversteer. It's so well balanced.

At 400PP there are lots of small, front-wheel drive cars with around 2.0 liter four pots. The Integra is a good one. I also like the Civic, the Talon, any of the Hyundai coupés, the New Beetles, and the painfully ugly FTO.

At 450PP, again, the Integra is very competitive. Any of the those cars can be. But the new 86 and the RX-8 are fantastic. I also like the RX-7s, though I prefer the FCs, I like the S2000 well enough, and while people rave about the Elise, I'd recommend just skipping it. The Evora, however, is a beauty. The Fairlady Zs, Z33 and up, are also good at this level. Oh, and the 3400 S isn't bad at this level.

The new Toyota GT 86 should do the trick, been using it every since... 182 hp or so at 6000 rpm, it's enough to win.

The Premium Mazda Roadster (NC) is a great car at both 400 and 450 PP. It's easy to set up and tune too. I can't think of an easier car to drive competitively at this level of performance.

The Premium Lotus Elise 111R is faster, but a little more difficult to drive unless you find a set up that works for your driving style.

Lotus Elise 111R is the fastest, Toyota GT 86 is second fastest, and a Chrysler PT Cruiser is actually very fast at the 450 level if I remember correctly.

Some of the older 90's Skylines are slightly slower but easier to drive. With 4wd and lots of grip, your consistency will often take you past the more erratic drivers just by waiting them out. S2000's for sure. The Spoon and Mugen versions are fast too at 450PP. The Integra Type R from the NCD is fast but driving FWD takes a bit of getting used to so I'd stay away from that if you are just learning. Mazda RX 7's and 8's are good. Ford RS200. There are 20-30 good competitive cars to drive at this PP level so don't get stuck in the Elise/NSX rut.

I also recommend Praiano's garage for fast cars on the easy side to drive and he will work with you if you are nice to him and suggest adjustments to the cars to suit your driving style.

Any honda as it will be equipped with a vtech, a miata, or def the gt86 and you'll be good to go. It's too easy.

Lancia Delta @ 450. The worst thing about it is that if it doesn't rev enough it is going to prove that slow and steady doesn't win the race

I've started using mine more and more. 400 PP slayer!

Thank you all for your advice

But...

Which is your opinion about CLIO RENAULT TROPHY RACE CAR '00 set up and tune for 450 PP?

It wasn't mentioned for a reason. I'll see if mine is tuned and post it later.

The Merc is no joke. I was there.

Also this weeks Car of the Week. Check it out.

Kudos on the race, too, Lewis. You're a class act. There's also C-ZETA's review here.

  1. It is a race car, not a street car.
  2. I've never understood taller cars, with shorter wheel bases, with the engines in the middle. That is asking for a spin.
  3. It starts above 450, so you have to limit it down. While that is okay to a degree, eventually the car just feels muted and dull.
  4. It is French.

400PP - Honda CR-X Si-R with 175 hp is a really strong car, you easily lap cars in the seasonals.

450PP - Honda Civic Type-R with 270hp (no turbo); yet another Honda than can easily leave behind its' opponents when driven well. Also like the CR-X Si-R the exhaust and engine sound great as well :)

Thank you very much to all for your suggestions

But i need tunes of the suggested cars:nervous:

No you don't.

I once had this fantastic RX-8 tune I found on the forum. I loved it. Then, I ran around with the car using the stock suspension.

I was faster.

This is my rule of thumb for cars:

  • It is a street car. It gets street tires. Don't put any more than sports softs on the car.
  • If you do weight reduction, no more than weight reduction 1. This is a street car, and if you are going to strip it all out and make a serious racing car, then you need a tune. You may even be better just getting a serious racing car.
  • Put on air filter, catalytic converter, and then maybe swap out the manifolds and put on a sports exhaust. Get it to just a few PP above what you want. Don't strap on a whole lot of horsepower. If you are doing all of that, then it is getting to serious, and you probably need a tune or a better car.
  • If the car rocks like a boat, then put on sports or height adjustable suspension. If it doesn't, leave the suspension alone.
  • If the car burns a single tire at odd times, feel free to ignore it. If you can't, slip on an LSD and play with it.
  • If the car has a crappy transmission, then feel free to replace it. Usually a close-ratio box is all you need, but for high speed tracks, you may need more. I actually do play with the gears, but I'm not getting into that now.

Asked and answered but Vol has given some sage advice up above. Unless you are going all out racing many cars need little or no adjustment for the track. But if you want to go all out or upgrade to RS tires as a lot of people do, Praiano's garage is filled with tunes of most of the popular cars on GT5 and they are very drivable by the majority of drivers.
