Stuck on this race for completing all events in this tier.

I have a DS3 and tried a fully tuned 512BB, my XJ-13, Ford MkIV Chaparrel 2D, and I think one other. None have won me gold and probably the best I could achieve with ether car is 3rd.

What's the best car (and setup) for this race?

Like The Wind in B-Spec awards a 1970 Toyota Race Car. I used this, fully tuned. I won A-Spec Historic Cup without a problem (b-spec Bob liked the walls for some reason, but he eventually gutted out a win).

Edit: the Toyota RC ends up having over 900hp and is very light. You'll still probably get destroyed by their 2J if it gets in the lead, so make sure you pass before the 2J gets to the front, or just restart until he starts behind you.

Thanks dude! Thought the Toyota 7 would've done it, but never took it out of the delivery trailer till now.

It's actually a nice car...accelerates nice, turns well, has a cool horn :P.

Use a fully tuned Countach and pass them all in the first corner. After that, do not let them overtake you otherwise, you will never catch them

Won both of these last night with a *P4 Ferrari , tuned up with the stage 3 Turbo , gives it something over 600BHP , Lowered the Car and stiffened it up a lot . First Race was quite easy .

Monaco was a bit fraught due to the Hoover (2J) car being in the field so that was a case of holding the Driving line to stop it getting past , won by 8/10ths of a second .

*P4 wasn't something I glitched either , swopped for it in the Marketplace .

I too used a P4, purchased without glitching with ny own hard earned credits. I tuned it to stage three, stiffened the chasis and put racing slicks on. For deep forest I only lowered the suspension a bit. For Cote I also dropped the top speed and increased downforce - was in the lead by the first corner and won by over 10 seconds...

I won with a fully tuned Countach. And I didn't overtake them on the first corner, but had to battle hard to overtake them.

Try Race reports in the GT4 forum. You will be surprised at the number of different cars we tried.

Used my '70 Challenger RM with some power mods. Its a tricky race though, and like its been said, don't let the Toyota 7 or 2J get ahead of you.

I used a 1970 Challenger race modded to win this cup. I don't see many people using this car but it was a logical choice for me, relatively cheap to buy and tune up because it already comes stock with gobs of hp and torque. Now you'll still need to fully upgrade every component to win including soft racing tires. Then you must tune it (adjust gear ratios for track and max downforce). After doing all of this I won the 1st race easily but Monza was a tooth and nail fight for the entire race. I had to wrestle with this muscle car the whole race to keep from crashing and to get the power to the ground. Oh and one of other piece of advise, if you don't get in 1st place by the 1st corner, just quit and start over. You absolutely must take the lead immediately and spend the rest of the race holding off the competition.

Some say playing b-spec will give you the best cars to win these harder races in a-spec but I don't like that approach because I have no interest in being a race car manager. I wanna do all the driving :)

I won it with the Toyota 7 but I've been hearing that a race modified Camaro can also do the job; I haven't yet tried this but I plan to.

/co-signed on this.

What I did to win this one was to shorten the gears / top speed to match the top speed I could achieve in the longest straight. Shorter gears meant quicker acceleration off the line / out of the corners.

For Bob to win Cote d'Azur, I had to give him a Chaparral 2J (the one that looks like a shoebox.)

Toyota 7 is what i used for B-spec. If that still doesnt help, i know i saw a flawless tune for it when i did a brief search... Watch the turn coming out of the tunnel :)

Jag XJ13, the one you win in some B-Spec race.

Absolutely breezes all these historic races, even with your Bob. Just need to increase top speed and wear the softest tyres you can get away with. You won't need to give a damn about the Chap 2J.

Plus, it's an absolute joy to drive, and a joy to behold.
