Hello.

I'm having some trouble winning the World Classic Race. I'm currently using a Mustang 350R, but it just can't pass that lead car. I also have a Honda s800, but i doubt that is any faster.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what car is best? Money is not an issue, and i can probably win another car if it will allow me to nab the World Classic.

For those of you who don't know the req's, the race is between any nation's car that was made before 1970.

Thanks.

I used the Chevelle won it with no problems.
Modified it to the gills.

Chapparral and GT40 would kill the competion, thats no fun

If the question is which car is the best or fastest to win. Chapparral and GT40 is the way to go.

If the question was which car will give the closest competition and fun, I'd agree with the above.

Most just want to win and unlock everything in the game. Then, afterwards, go back and try for the highest possible a-spec points.

if money is no object for you, i purchased the ac cobra and used it for this race and some of the old uk races. Killed 2 birds with one stone

i used the 63 corvette stingray race car i won in the vette vette vette cup. its got 600 hp, so i figured i should be ok. the first time through the series there was one other car, dont remember what it was, but it had power slightly less than me and could take corners 1000 times better. this wasnt as much of a problem on the first two courses, but nurbergring, citta de something or other, and laguna seca were proving a bit difficult, and i netted 2nd place in the last 3 races. played it again, no other fast cars, dominated each race by a margin of 10-30 seconds or more.

Thanks.

I used the ac car 427 fully tuned and had no problems

i raced it this afternoon with a lightly modded stingray and won. The car that i had trouble against wasn't in the series this time though. I guess it was just luck of the draw.

Not sure what kind of car it was though, but it was fast, we were both a good deal ahead of the rest of the racers.

On to the supercar race...

I used a '69 Corvette with all the mods. Get the full custom tranny and set the auto to 13, it will top out around 170 which is a lot faster than what the other cars will do.

I would like to know where to win the Buick Special. Can anyone help?
For that matter, the GNX, as well.

You must buy them new at the dealership the Special is 58,000 and the GNX is 31,080, I think

Or if you have the credits, a nice AC 427 S/C would work. 👍 The Shelby Cobra is more expensive than the AC, yet the two cars are very similar. Anyway, a 427 S/C should get you an easy win -- if that's what you're looking for.

I used the 240ZG fully modded and had fun dualing it out with a certain muscle car ;)
(I won but barely, which was the whole fun of it!)

A bit expensive, but I also used the ac for multiple races. It handles good and is extremly fast. 👍

That series has two spoiler cars which are almost always in the field, the AC Cobra and the Buick Special. Both are totaly out of whack with the rest of the field and totaly ruin what could've been one of the most fun series in the game.

But!

I found if you join and leave the series enough times you'll eventualy get a field with neither car, so my recommendation to you is not to buy some muscle car and spend all your money on it just to beat one of the afore mentioned spoiler cars, but to instead buy whatever classic car you want and just enter and reenter and reenter untill you find that neither the Cobra or the Buick Special are in the field, the race is much more enjoyable that way.

Buick special. Fast, handles good, and kicks some a**. sure you dont get alot of A spec points, but i've tryed other cars and couldnt pull it off cause the lead car was always the Special. So I faught fire with fire and bought a Special myself.

When I did this race (in my ac cobra), it was great. Was up against another ac and a buick. It was basically a three man race, but not an easy win at all.

Buick Special here too. Tricked it out to 870 some odd hp. Only track I had problems with was Nurb and the AC cobra. Didn't have enough cash for a suspension upgrade (flat broke after the supercharger) and the Special gets real floaty at high speeds without it...
