Howdy race fans OK I've created a second account and plan to start over don't ask me why lol....anyway I want to gift one car from my main account to get my second one up and running...what one car would be best to gift over that I could use to cover most of the A-spec races before I need to start buying others?

I can't tell "the best" but I use a nissan silvia at the start. Cheap car with decent HP and easy to drive. I win lots of events with it.

EDIT: Sorry I don't read that you wish to "gift it" to your secondary account... my comment was oriented to scratch start in the game.

Gift yourself the X2010....that will get ya there.....oh yeah....costs too much.
Maybe a ZR1 RM car.....that would work too.

I did a Mitsubishi FTO or something when I first started......it did pretty good for me.

Caterham or a MR2 would be my choice. They should get you through most of the first stages. A fully tuned Caterham can easily handle some of the expert and endurance races.

Maybe a Scudiara if you're into a car that drives you instead of a car you drive.

Maybe a Minolta, I know you win it later on, but you'll be able to get away with it in most of the classic Japanese car races.
And we all know how many of those there are. :(

why dont you just send a friends request between your two accounts and then just share your garage as needed. easier and quicker. then your second account will accumulate $$$ very fast since you wont be spending any of it. 👍

You can get through all of A-spec buying 6 cars, then using prize cars for the rest. You can gift all but the first two:

German Touring Car
Formula GT
NASCAR
any Mini (best is 07 Mini Cooper S)
07 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
08 Lamborghini Gallardo

The NASCAR, for being only 500k credits, can win a LOT of races pretty easily.

If you want to start the game again pure, from little money and no trickery or gifting, then I would recommend a 1989 Miata. Notice how many Miatas are in this game and notice how well they all handle without much tuning. I think the Japanese programmers kinda like the Miata. Get the 1989 and you are able to use it for the 80s Japanese challenges.

Correction actually, you don't need to buy a German touring car, you can use the Lexus IS F racing concept you get from the nurburgring 4hr endurance. I guess "German touring car" doesn't actually mean they need to be German.

^^ Nice info. Might try this on my next play thru.

Too cool! Also, you can win a Nascar in the Jeff Gordon Special...

yeah. And don't update till you finish Special and Extreme NASCAR events (because u can set ABS=0 and win it easily).

Actually, savegame is compatible with all GT5 updates back and forth. So, to do NASCAR events, you can delete GT5 game data (not savegame!) and just use version from disk. Then update again for online and other cookies :)

Sigh, I spent 750'000 on a car that won me a horrible BMW.

I was putting that race off for so long and I was about out of quick easy A-spec races to complete so I gave in and looked at the car list to see what I needed to buy only to see the freakin lexus on there I just won the day before from the nurburg 4hr in B-Spec. I was that close to pulling the trigger on an expensive touring car.

Cheers fella's for all your input...I think I'll just go ahead and do it like this^^^^

That seems the most cost effective way and the second account is just to gather cash for buying the expensive cars 👍

Sadly, just realized that the Mini doesn't count for the Brit Lightweight... stupid Austin Powers making me think Mini's were from UK. Gotta wait now for the Caterham from the FGT race. I also forgot that first car you're required to buy before you can do anything. Went with a Cappuccino to make the K Cup easy (alternative was the '78 Honda Z-Act prize car)

You could use a Lotus Elise. Also, a Speed 12 would work. Actually, I think any TVR would work for the Brit Lightweight race.

Yah, but the goal is to purchase as few cars as possible. Since you can win the Caterham, don't need to buy the Lotus. Yeah, I know, I think I totally hijacked this thread...
