Of the three countries (Japan, USA, and Europe), what three cars from each country will produce the fairest competition between each other aka very close race which can go either way and any side could win.

If you want to include past vehicles, go ahead but I'm more concerned about the current ones. It would be a good tournament PD can hold to see which country makes the best cars.

Current:

For Japan, I can only think of the Nissan GTR or Lexus LF-A (unfortunately, we don't know much about the LF-A). But because the Nissan GTR is the best vehicle for Japan right now, it will be the cap limit for the other two cars.

America:
Either the Ford GT or the Dodge Viper. I see these two cars being better than the Z06.

Europe:
The newest Porsche 911 Turbo with an upgraded 500 hp and torque.

Remember, we are capping the limit to the Nissan GTR since that is Japan's best production car. And don't forget that this thread is about finding which 3 cars produce the fairest competition.

Before someone starts bitching, I'm sure he knows Europe is not a country. It's just a way of explaining his thoughs.

On topic.
I actually though in the same cars than you for USA an Europe, before reading the post completely.

Japan: Nissan GTR
USA: Corvette ZR1
Germany: Porsche GT2

Those 3 cars have a lot of historic lineage & motorsport pedigree between them.

I know you asked for three, but Italy has to be represented.

Italy: Lamborghini LP640

In regard to excitement to drive:

America: Corvette ZR1
Europe: Lamborghini Murcielago (R-GT, SV, etc)
Japan: GTR Spev-V

Japan:
Nissan GT-R, Lexus IS F, Lexus LF-A

America:
Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1, Dodge Viper ACR, Ford GT

Europe:
Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Lamborghini Gallardo LP560, Porsche 997 GT2

It's hard to pick two Japanese cars that can compete with even the GT-R but the IS F is a pretty good car and the LF-A looks to be really good as well once it hits production.

Edit:
Oh, I thought you meant three from each. In that case, I'd pick the GT-R Spec V, F430 Scuderia, and the ZR-1.

Correct and thank you. Sorry if I offend anyone.

America:
ZR-1

Europe:
Porsche GT3 (i think Europe is really hard to say)

Japan:
Nissan R35 i'll go for the 2010 update it's time in the Ring was better than Spec-V but there's rumors from a LM edition but there RUMORS

Japan:
Nissan GTR R35... i'll go for the 2010 update it has a better time (lap record) in the Ring even better than the Spec-V there's rumors from a new LM spec but just RUMORS

Europe:
Porsche GT3 (maybe RS?)

America: ZR-1

Europe:
The newest Porsche 911 Turbo with an upgraded 500 hp and torque.

remember power doesn't mean control well at least is AWD

Why everyone posts NISSAN GT-R for Japan? I know it's for the best cars, but why not best bang for the buck? Japan produces that car it's called the 370z
Why not be more challenging by writing STi or the 370z?

I wonder what cars could it compare with USA and Germany in specific. Also all 3 cars have to be within 5k money margin.

- Asia -
Nissan GT-R '08
Honda NSX-R '05

- North America -
Corvette ZR1 '09
Dodge Viper ACR '08
Ford GT '06

- Europe -
Porsche 997 GT3 '07
Ferrari F430 Scuderia '07
Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 '09

Got greedy and chose possible candidates from each region. Enjoy your hand.

Japan: GT-R Spec-V

Europe: Not sure

America: Ford GT and its not the Mustang GT!

I picked the Ford GT because i'm a Blue Oval fan! The ZR1 should be there, but i'm not changing it.:sly:

It's so hard to pick one representative from these 3 places in the world. Europe, for me, has me most interested in respect to Gran Turismo 5. Ferrari, Lamborghini and maybe Porsche?! In a GT game?! Ridiculous.

Japan, would have to be the current GTR
North America, Corvette ZR1, while the build quality is still shoddy as ever, it sounds great (and can handle)
Europe, by far the hardest to decide, I think I'd have to go with an F430 Scuderia, but thats a very tough call with the Veyron, enzo etc

Acura NSX '91 vs Chevrolet Corvette C4 vs TVR Griffith

Harking back to the old Country vs Country races in GT1 ;)

The Citroen GT for Japan, I know its built by Citroen in Europe somewhere, but it was designed by Japan. But realistically, it is the Nissan GTR, ZR1 or Gt40 for USA and Europe, probably a Ferrari, not sure on particular models.

The Citroen GT is also powered by an American GM V8 :P

America: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, or Ford GT.
Japan: Nissan GT-R. Until the Lexus LF-A
Eeroop: Porsche GT2. Or Murci LP-4,000,000, or whatever the strongest is.

Japan: Nissan R390, GT-R, 370Z
Germany: Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman S, Audi TT-RS
USA: Base LS3 Corvette with Z51, Viper GTS, Camaro V6 RS

-> Hmm...here's my 5 bests in 3 regions:

United States of America
- Dodge (Neon) SRT-4 {230hp}
- Ford Mustang [S197v2] GT500
- Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe {265hp}
- Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8
- SSC Ultimate Aero TT

European Union
- Ford Focus RS {300hp}
- Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst S
- Porsche Cayman S PDK
- Audi Q7 V12 TDI
- McLaren F1

Japan
- Mugen Civic RR [FD2]
- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400
- Honda S2000 Type-S
- HKS Nissan Patrol
- Top Secret V12 Supra

^ Take note, all of these cars are not in any GT iteration (yet). You may question me about the Dodge (Neon) SRT-4, but the one in GT4 was the 215hp version. :)

gtone339-> Your Saleen S7 should be the Twin Turbo; its has a better chance against either of them. :)
