Any suggestions for the WTC 900? I always struggle finding a good car choice for those 900pp events. I mean, I can downtune some LM55 oder Super Formula to 900pp which kinda works out, but the game seems to "expect" me to use a Gr.2 car (such as it expects Gr.4 for WTC 700 and Gr.3 for WTC 800 races), but those I have in that category are either way less than 900pp, or only get to that point using RS tires which suck in endurance races, so I haven't been able yet to win any WTC 900 event for example with the Lexus Gr.2 (which is a great choice for any WTC 800 race, by the way).
Valkyrie on RH will easily win it, otherwise use one of the 2016 Gr.2 cars or the DTM Audi on RM, just watch the weather radar.

Audi RS5 DTM(mostly recommended it seems) and Tomahawk Gr1 I’ve used for easy wins

Here's my quick pick for tomorrow :

Volvo and Lexus are "firsties" ... and while the weather will be fine at Monza I'm afraid of the Belgian rain !

I'm happy with this, even if there is a croissant included ;)
Yes, WTC900 are usually Gr.2 cars, but i do the obvious to make it easy for me i jump into a Gr.1 LMP car and detune it a bit and wheeee I'm having fun....if I feel like a challenge I will use a Gr.2 car and the best I believe is the AUDI DTM
Good luck and have fun.....
All my Gr1 cars are at 900pp, GR2 cars are at 800pp, Gr3 cars are at 700pp

The Audi DTM is my most driven car thanks to the Sardegna grind race and its tyres last forever.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Air Force N-One

More new Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges are becoming available to players worldwide, flipping to a fresh set as your console’s time ticks past midnight and into Friday morning...
Here's your title for the 3rd N-One race when it arrives @Famine ...

Wait for it...
Drum roll...

"I am the N-One and Only"

takes bow

Quite a fun week, nice selection of circuits. Sunday Cup is easy enough around the suggested PP level, usually there's a Giulia up front to watch out for. Clubman Cup is also quite easy because the AI struggles around Alsace, as a result there's a lot of unmodified cars you can use, fun circuit to drive too. One-make I just used my fully tuned N-ONE, one of those races that's not really possible in a stock car but doesn't require a lot of tuning either. Nissan GT-R Cup I made difficult for myself by using a stock R34 Z-tune on SH, was quite tricky to catch up with the leader with how much the AI will hold you up going through the field. Not the layout of that track I like either but the car was a bunch of fun to drive. WTC 900 was very easy with a 900 PP Valkyrie, no rain so I ran map 6 and pitted on lap 5, won by over 40 seconds. Decided to run it a second time with the Audi RS5 and won by about 30 seconds with the same conditions. There's a couple of AI that are really fast but pit twice, rest will pit once and they're on a mixture of tyres, sometimes one of the cars on RM can end up at the front. Rain seems to be quite rare for me, think I've had 1/5 races there with it.

Cars for this week:
full

IIRC that's the race I tried with every car possible less or equal to 550PP but just couldn't win😟 But maybe I'm just especially bad at this track 'cause it just doesn't flow for me.

I don't understand the hype around the weekly events. Apart from the special events, it's just recycling the races already in the game.
Agreed. After so much time, and I'm certain many repeats, they would shake things up a bit. Originally I thought bonus credit rewards on the default payouts would be a good idea. At least to incentivise attempts with different cars.

The mind still boggles that they binned the increase based on relative car performance, as they had in GT Sport.

Was thinking of using the Lexus too but had second thoughts.
The newer '16 one is probably fine, but '08 car seems to exist only to fill the backfield in these WTC900 races with some cars that are easy to pass.

There's hype? I agree, there really isn't anything particularly novel about them. For me, the challenges are just an excuse to revisit content that I wouldn't otherwise think to try, drive some cars that I haven't before, and share some photos.

Here, we're just a couple of guys being happy to get a small but rewarded challenge every week, and that are willing to repeat events that we did before just because someone put them on a new list (and because we get a litte reward for that). I don't think there's a real "hype".

The Special Events are the highlights, certainly, as is the fact that all new races in any update appear in the Weekly Challenges before the subsequent update. For the other 17-22 races a month, most people won't have done all the races in the game, so sticking them into the Weekly Challenges gives players a little bonus incentive to do that. It's just a way to encourage completion (although I don't think all of the races in World Circuits have appeared in Weekly Challenges yet, even though the latter has had double the number of the former now).

With regards to this from a couple of weeks ago:

Incidentally, for this week's article if you see it, don't say it. I shall elaborate another time.
I won't say who (and don't share yet if you find them), but I recently noticed that a commercial site had been running articles with my images from our own Weekly Challenges articles for theirs (I say "theirs"; I remain unconvinced that the "writer" isn't an LLM, and they certainly do not comprehend tyre wear/fuel multipliers).

Both last week's article and this week's contained a significant number of different watermarks, none of which they seemed to notice when they just straight-up lifted it again.

vUSR6G.gif

While it doesn't take long, my images are composites which aren't possible to generate from the game alone. Note how the tiles are all identical in size, slightly differently spaces (because the one you last hovered is bigger and they get dynamically spaced out), and there's no cursor? You can't do that from a single screenshot; I create them all myself and, while not my most in-depth work, I still own the copyright for the composite (SIE retains the copyright for straight screenshots) and I am a freelance word/picture/video guy who earns a living from doing this.

It's bad enough that e-fame vampires nick them for their social medias (hence the GTPlanet-watermarked image I post at ~12.05pm UK time every week; I can't stop them, but they either can't use it for self-promo or have to credit their source) but for a commercial media outlet to do it is 🤮

I still have some events to complete but so far none of those came out in a weekly. It will happen.

I use the weeklies because I don't play much and there is a small bonus, so it is easy content to pick up and play. That way I maintain my "skills" a bit. The first reward is like 20 times the daily workout we get most of the time, and at least one in two week we get 500k. So that's some change to be able to buy duplicate cars and tune them.

Nope, not a fact. The new GrB rally race at Colorado Springs was added in 1.60 in late June, we're already at 1.62 halfway through September, and it has yet to be featured.

Off-road rarely features full stop, even as a proportion of the number of events in the game.

Catalunya Rallycross appears relatively often, if still single digits, but I'm only recalling a couple of Colorado events (Pickup Truck Race and Evo/R4 one-makes) and I can only think of one appearance of Fishermans Ranch.

Unlike a few years ago, PD has generally become hesistant using off-road races in any time-limited format. In the early days those events occured not only in the Weeklies but also in Time Trials and Daylies, but at some point PD changed that. Not sure why - some say they listened to fans' critism, but I kinda doubt that because I can't recall whenever PD gave a **** on the wishes of their fans...

Guess I had a good feel this time for equipping my cars to be competitive without overpowering them, with the Lexus maybe being the exception. So I did all the five races in one session more or less and it's almost been a clean sweep.

Race 1 at Monza
Added CS tires and an adjustable ECU to the otherwise stock Volvo ( 360 PP ) and was just quick enough to catch the leading Giulia entering Ascari the second time. CRB achieved.

Race 2 at Alsace
Besides some front aero and the wheels my Afeela 1 was full stock ( 550 PP ). Good race against the Afeela Prototype ... which is for whatever reason the better car imo. CRB achieved.

Race 3 at Laguna Seca
Did this race with my Kei Cup spec standard N-ONE ( 400 PP ) for some extra fun when driving circles around all that wide body opposition. CRB achieved.

Race 4 at St. Croix
I really start to like this track layout. Although way below PD's suggestion my Z-tune ( 600 PP ) was quick enough for the win against surprisingly quick AI drivers van de Ven and Estevez. CRB achieved.

Race 5 at Spa
What can I say : No rain but nerve-racking AI. No CRB - two incidents : A CLK running 100 km/h at the exit of Eau Rouge and an NSX hitting the inside wall at La Source. Couldn't fully avoid these lol.

Ah, and in case I never mentioned this : Thanks everyone for sharing his race stories and photos here - such a joy coming back to this forum and this thread again and again. ;)
