coming from an Xbox360 and making the switch to a PS3 dual shock controller makes me quite frankly infuriated. it is the most poorly designed controller. but i dont want to rant ;) what i do want to ask is, wht controllers have the best feel for the triggers?

with the DS3, i feel like the first 30% of the trigger pull gets you nothing, then 30% to 80% does the rest of the throttle, with the last 10% feeling like it doesnt do anhything. is there any controller more like the xbox, where the trigger pull feels (and in the game is reflected as being) more linear??

I've just ordered an HKS Racing Controller. Will post a review in this forum when I've given it a good drive around the ring a couple of times.

Reviews are positive though.

I've just ordered the trigger extensions from play.com, logic being the triggers will be longer giving the trigger a longer arc as it is depressed, therefore making it slightly less sensitive giving me a bit more control on the brake / throttle. Not sure if it will work like this but was worth a go for £3 I think it was.

Brambos: thanks, from what i've heard though, the HKS controller was a good idea executed wrong. i've heard a majority of negative things about it, either way, hopefully you like yours.

Hig-GT: as much as i wanted to get those too, i feel like the issue is more the internals of the controller. it just feels off to me.

I had the same issues with the stock PS3 controller but after I added some Pelican trigger extenders it made a world of difference. It lets me feather the throttle and brakes without slipping. Only cost me $5 at Walmart

I just figured for the price, I agree though, I do think something is slightly wrong as you said.

I dunno I bought these too but I'm with the other guy. It's not that the throw is too short its the long dead spot at the beginning and the other shorter dead spot at the end. I can't get the right amount of throttle when I want it. So if it's really important I switch to the right analog stick for gas.

I should buy a wheel but I'm feeling cheap at the moment.

I also use the 360, and know exactly what the op is talking about. I think its something to do with the game to, you can watch the on screen throttle indicator and see that it is just not a linear set-up. The funny thing is that its the same with pedals as with controller. Plus GT has the weird deal were your car bounces off the rev limiter at about 25% throttle.

NONE of the aftermarket NON-Sony controllers are as good as the Sony DS3. Ive boughten the Nyko Raven which is based off of a 360 controller and it is amazing, but the analog sticks are so rediculously sensitive that FPS/other games like that are impossible to play.

I personally HATE the xbox controllers but they are more comfortable and the triggers are concave which is nice, the Raven is better than the ps3 and 360 put together IMO but the sensitivity of the analog stick is unbearable for me.

I use a DS3 and i hate it, plus i don't really want to buy a wheel. I use the sticks to drive, but might pull it apart and add rubber bands to L2 and R2 for resistance or something

Interesting. Most online reviews give it 4 or 5 stars out of 5. Only negatives I've heard were that it was wired, which I don't care about, and that you had to use the NFS setting rather than the GT setting to get the best trigger response.

Anyway.. I'll post a review when I've put it through its paces.
