Ok, heres the situation-

Lets say there is a Big, All of Everything, Race series.

The first race is a Touring-car race(WTCC, Aussie V8, BTCC, DTM, etc, Your choice)
The 2nd is a Formula 1 race, at Spa(2 drivers)
The 3rd is a Twilight rally of Mexico
The 4th is Rally France (Tarmac) at night
The 5th is a GT-Class race (Super GT, FIA, ACO- Your choice)
and the last race is the 24 Hours of Le Mans.(LMP)(all 4 must participate)

So, pick your team.

Which cars would you use? (Any Era)

And, you can have 4 Drivers (Also Any Era) and they can compete in up to 3 events.

My Picks are-
Touring- Paul Di Resta- Mercedes C-Class DTM
F1- Di Resta, Ayrton Senna- Mclaren MP4-4
Rally Stages- Sebastian Loeb- Lancia Stratos
GT Class- Michael Schumacher

Obviously this is all a bit silly, but who cares.

Touring - John Cleland - Vauxhall Cavalier
F1 - Jim Clark, Ayrton Senna - Brabham BT46 Fan Car
Rally Stages - Sebastian Loeb - Mini Cooper S
GT Class - Sebastien Loeb - Lister Storm GT1
LM 24 - Cleland, Clark, Senna, Loeb - Pescarolo C60

Or alternatively:

Touring - Andy Rouse - Ford Sierra RS500
F1 - Gilles Villenueve, Jacques Villenueve - Williams FW15
Rally Stages - Colin McCrae - Lancia Fulvia
GT Class - Jacques Villenueve - McLaren F1 GTR
LM 24 - Rouse, Villenueve, Villenueve, McCrae - Porsche 962

Plato - 2011 WTCC Chevy Cruze
Hamilton, Fangio - Ferrari F2004
Makinen - Mitsubishi Lancer
Plato - Nismo Skyline JGTC
Plato, Hamilton, Fangio, Makinen - Sauber Mercedes C11

F1- Di Resta, Ayrton Senna- Mclaren MP4-4

I know you're a Di Resta fan and it's nice for us Scots to have some reputation at the top level again, but don't you think you're getting a bit carried away here?

F1 - Gilles Villenueve, Jacques Villenueve - Williams FW15

That would be a very interesting combination. I'd love to see how that would play out, providing it is Jacques before his form completely nose dived.

I swear that there was a old thread which was like this, oh well.

Touring Cars: Tom Coronel - V8 Superstars Porsche Panamera

Formula 1: HWNSNBM, Kamui Kobayashi - Ferrari F2004

Rally: Colin McRae - Peugeot 205 T16

GT: Jan Magnussen - Toyota GT-One '98

Prototypes: Anthony Davidson, Allan McNish, Jan Lammers, Sejii Ara - Dome S102 (One of the only cars that could have beaten the Diesels.)

Last edited:
Touring cars - Colin Turkington - 2011 Chevy Cruze
F1 - Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso - Ferrari F2004 or else Red Bull RB7 without fuel limits
Rally - Sebastian Loeb - Lancia Delta Integrale
GT - Timo Schieder - Masarati MC12 GT1

LMP - Audi R8

Interesting to see which people didn't read the OP properly. ;)

Oh? And when would that be? I don't know if you've ever followed Jacques much but he has never really "dived" that much, he had his worst years 2003-2006 but even then he could sometimes show that spirit, even if he lacks in many other areas. What I love about Jacques is that you know he will attempt to go flat out whenever he is in the car, even when his head isn't in the right place and he isn't so fast anymore, he will still chuck a racecar about.

I put him and Gilles together purely for their exciting driving styles and nothing more. Don't ask who gets to be number 27 though!

If I was an F1 manager the 2 drivers I would want would be Lewis Hamilton and Robert Kubica.

Well since I've been watching F1 religously since the early 90's, I am more than aware of Jacques. His downfall started when he took the big money offer to join BAR... Yes fair enough, eventually down the road, after a manufacturer takeover, the team won a grand prix and designed a world championship winning car, but the whole BAR situation was a mess. He could easily have gained a more competitive drive for 99 and then tried to join a better team for 2000.

Whereas, as much as I hate Lewis (who JV clearly loves) he would be willing to accept a pay cut for a more competitive car. That's where the two differ, one went for the big money deal and lack of results, the other (mostly)wants success.

Even so, he was very impressive at BAR until a certain Jenson Button and David Richards/Prodrive came on the scene. As I said, while Jacques lacks in certain areas (leadership..perhaps also intelligence?) he more than makes up for in just being a balls-out racer.
His refusal to take Eau Rouge at any speed other than flat out personifies Jacques so well - it was stupid, it led to a fair few accidents but it was exciting.

And considering we are talking a fantasy team here, I don't need to worry about Jacques making a dumb career move do I? As long as he takes Eau Rouge flat.

Fair point.

1. Andy Priaulx - BMW 320si WTCC
2. Sebastian Loeb (he's tested F1, remember!) and Sebastian Vettel - Williams FW07
3/4. Sebastian Loeb - Peugeot 205 T16
5. Filipe Albuquerque - Audi R8 LMS GT3
6. Priaulx, Loeb, Vettel, Albuquerque - Peugeot 905

Doesn't really apply to older eras in terms of drivers but still I think it's an OK team. :)

Interesting, here's my line up:

Touring - Shane Van Gisbergen - Nissan Skyline R32 GTR
F1 - Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen - BMW F1.08
Rally - Petter Solberg - Ford RS200
GT - Allan Simonsen - McLaren F1 GTR
LM 24 - Van Gisbergen, Hamilton, Raikkonen, Simonsen - Dome S102

Touring - Yvan Muller, Rickard Rydell - BMW 320i
F1 - Fernando Alonso, Ayrton Senna - Renault R26
Rally - Petter Solberg, Colin McRae - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6
GT - Jamie Campbell-Walter - Maserati MC12
LM 24 - Tom Kristensen, Martin Brundle, Mark Webber, Sebastien Loeb - Audi R8

Touring - Will Hoy - Mazda RX-7
F1 - Gilles Villenueve and Keke Rosberg - Lotus 72
Rally Stages - Henri Toivonen - Lancia Delta S4
GT Class - André Lotterer - Toyota GT-One
LM 24 - Villenueve, Rosberg & Lotterer - Porsche 962

Going with an interesting lign-up

Touring - Bernd Schneider - Mercedes CLK DTM
F1 - Ayrton Senna, Emerson Fittipaldi - Ferrari F2002
Rally Stages - Marcus Gronholm - Subaru Impreza (1995)
GT Class - Richard Westbrook - Chevrolet Corvette C6
LM 24 - Brabham / Sarrazin / Kristensen / McNish - Audi R8 (Team Veloqx)

Touring Cars:
Jason Plato, VX Racing Vectra 2008 or Paul Di Resta, Mercedes C-Class DTM
F1:
Lewis Hamilton and Robert Kubica, Ferrari F2004 or Ayrton Senna and Jenson Button, Red Bull RB6
Rally:
Marcus Gronholm, Citroen C4 2010 or Colin McRae, Peugeot 206 WRC
GT:
Tom Kristensen, Nissan GT-R GT1 or Darren Turner, Aston Martin DBR9
Le Mans:
Peugeot 905 or Audi R10 TDi

I thought it would be easier making two lots of teams than adding on three extra drivers.
