Classic Supercars like AC/Shelby Cobra, Ferrarri 512BB, Lamborghini Contouch 25th anniversary, RUF Yellowbird. Might be a couple others as well...:D

Corvette Stingray
Lambo Miura
Jensen Interceptor (?)
Alfa Giulia TZ2 (?)

Unless I'm mistaken isn't the Miura just the concept name for the Contouch?
Definitely agree with the Corvette and Jensen though.👍👍

Nope, the Miura was the Miura (1967?), the Countach came a few years later (1974) :)

And Jag E-Type? Does it have enough grunt to compete with the others? :D

I don't know if you guys would be interested, but I've always wanted to do a piece on lightweight 2-seater sports cars where you compare the old classics to the modern successors, both spiritual and literal. For example, let's say sub-2000cc RWD classics against sub-2000cc FWD (or RWD) modern cars where you'd have the big-name Brits and Italians from back in the day squaring off against the likes of the Miata and the Civic! An article like that would be a lot of fun to read!

Some cars you could include might be:
'73 Alpine A110
'63-'66 Alfa Romeo Giulia (Speciale, GTA, Duetto, pick your poison)
'64 Ginetta G4
'62 Lotus Elan
'89 Mazda Miata (imagine a Miata vs Elan article, that alone would be a spectacular read)
'68 Nissan Fairlady 2000
'67/'70 Nissan Skyline (everyone loves the KPGC10 but the S54 needs some love from this forum)
'67 Toyota 2000GT

You could do so much inside that concept like S800 vs S2000, Elan vs Miata, S54/KPGC10/KPGC110 vs R32/33/34/new GT-R, 110S (Cosmo) vs RX-7, Europa vs Elise, there's just a nearly endless realm of old vs new battles that would be great fun to do (and read/watch).

You could even have a dirt-based showdown of cars like the A110, Stratos, Lancer 1600, Bluebird 510/910, etc go up against the likes of the WRX, Lancer Evolution, and Focus RS; a war between philosophies featuring new technological wizardry going up against puritan driving feel and experience! I'd reread that once a week!

Also, if you guys ever want to do one of those "interview with the expert" segments and the current topic is American muscle cars, then I'd be more than happy to lend my expertise and chat about them. I grew up around them, I've torn them down, I've rebuilt them, I've driven/raced them, I could write books at this point about my love and passion for the old Detroit iron I grew up with (things like a '67 Corvette 427, a '70 Chevelle SS 454, or even that '67 GTO 4-speed sitting in my garage right now). I'm mediocre with Mopar, Ford I'm pretty good, and if it's Chevy or Pontiac then I know my stuff pretty good. Myself and much of my family has been in the hot rod culture since the Ford Flathead ruled the streets, I have a lot of knowledge and resources that has become long-forgotten by today's world and I'd really enjoy being able to help out with anything related to Detroit's golden years!

Some how I had missed this post of yours! Sorry about that, anyway. Welcome to the team! :P I'll add you up on PSN later today.

I want to get testing for the first episode today if we can get the team together. I believe the first episode is going to be along the lines of "entry level sport cars" But can't be sure as of yet!

Sounds good, I'm up to about 1500 cars and don't give a rat's about any of this 0 miles and 0 switches junk. My modest collection is 100% open if you guys need a car.

Oh, and entry-level sports cars, classics, and other general toaster-shape piles of junk are my favorites so I've got plenty to pick from!

Hahaha, 1500!! Holy..
& Thanks man sounds good.

Yeah, less than 100 of them are actual racecars. There's at least one stock copy of nearly every standard street-legal car model in the game sitting in my garage. I need a life...

I don't have the ability to record but I have some experience in video editing and a properly tooled-up Mac, let me know if you need any video work as well. I need to find an old cable box so I can Macjack it, then I could record too.

Shoot me a message on PSN whenever you guys get going, I should be on all night (off work tomorrow).

Very cool idea. Never considered putting the oldies with the modern muscle..
Noted* ;)

There is the elephant in the room: without a large amount of preparations and a lot of documentation on every single one, I wouldn't wipe my *** with the paper that comparison is printed on and the result would be as reliable as Bill Clinton with an intern. This is my area of expertise and that expertise is very extensive, but you're going to have to put in the elbow grease or else you waste everyone's time by giving them pure BS.

Find your the '54 Corvette and take a look at the stock gear ratios, the real car had a Powerglide and only came with one final drive ratio. That means it's a 2-speed transmission leaving 3 ratios altogether: a 2.00/1.00 trans and 4.00 final. When I saw it I looked in awe at the amount of sucking at life necessary to pull this off. Powerglides came with a first gear ratio of either 1.82 or 1.76, I'm 99.9% sure the Corvette was 1.82 but I'll check my C1 restoration manuals later. Either way those are the only Powerglide ratios, there was NEVER a 2.00 first gear installed on ANY CAR EVER MADE WITH A POWERGLIDE! Brace yourself, the final drive ratio should be 3.55 and THE ONLY POSSIBLE REAR RATIO!

I decided to see how rare this information was and searched "1954 Corvette axle ratio" both "Powerglide ratios" on google, both times the very first site gave the correct numbers. Considering even the very top page of a google search hits the right numbers both times, where the **** did these wrong ones come from? THEY MANAGED TO MESS UP A CAR WITH ONLY 3 GEARS BECAUSE THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF USING GOOGLE!

Polyphony Digital managed to royally FUBAR quite a few muscle cars, I've never counted because I just get pissed off and want to go Hiroshima Round Two for obviously putting so little effort into them. The majority of the power figures are based on factory figures so far off that people laughed when the cars were new (this is wher I can help quite a bit)! Then there's stuff like the '69 Camaro SS having the wrong transmission, and do you know how '69 Camaros came with 3.89 gears? The answer is every single one made by Ford!👍 The 3.89 gears are a Ford ratio, GM never put any 3.89 gears in any 12-bolt. Go google "Chevy 3.89 axle" and let me know how that works out.

I'm sorry, I'm sure half of you need extensive psychiatric therapy now. Try and call the "reverse suspension settings" guys crazy while looking at that '54 Corvette, only 3 gears and 2 are wrong. I used to think Polyphony Digital couldn't possibly be THAT dumb, I'm not taking sides but there's no way I can argue PD's assumed intelligence after that.

There is no question that they didn't put the time required that would benefit the players. You make a good point..

Just do what I do. Look up the correct figures and add them yourself.

Speaking of which, I was gonna ask if you wanted the RX-8 updated for the test/review. In 2009 they redesigned the rotary and the RX-8 in game is an '07

Nahh, we'll just leave 'er as is. Wanna get testing now?

:embarrassed: Mind Blown you typed all of that. That is a VERY cool idea, thing is, there is no chance we would be able to to all of that, how ever, we could quite easily do the most popular ones, or something along the lines of it.. Thanks a TON for the input man! Great idea.

I know I have all of the rally cars, 2 of most of them. I also have quite a few of the more obscure ones like the NSX LM Prototype both road and race, Honda S800 RSC, Spoon Fit and S2000, stuff like that.

Maybe we could cut it down, perhaps road vs race rally cars. I got those under control, especially those Group B bad boys!

Oh, now that's got me thinking! We're typically about how much faster are the new cars. We could do a Group B, Group A, and WRC thing to see how fast are were the old cars!

 This is what I do! I need to make sure these cars are in true form!

That's tricky. How much horsepower did a '69 DZ 302 motor actually make? Where did you get that number from?

A lot of people who know nothing love to post on the internet and write magazine articles claiming a car makes such and such power. I have yet to see one get something right...

I just search dude. When I need tranny guide to get my muscle cars right I use this.

I also try to go on Google and get all the information I can get. 👍

That's my point, we know 290hp is wrong for the '69 Z28, but which number is right? You can find anything from 310hp to 400hp depending on who you ask. Then, what's the GT5 car equipped with? Did it have the 30-30 Duntov cam, or maybe the cross-ram intake with dual 4-barrels?

See where I'm going with this? There's so much up in the air and I can guarantee 95% or more of what you see on google is wrong. Oh, and the 454 LS6 is one of my favorites, I've never seen any of those internet guesses get close to the dyno numbers I have for one from back in like '70 or '71. Trust me, it's not as easy as you think it is.

Don't forget 1/4-mile times were often fudged too! Magazines wanted to post the fastest times so they had a habit of sticking carbs, intakes, headers, and especially stickier tires on the cars. That's assuming the factory didn't do it anyway and neglect to mention it, which they were infamous for. The only sources I trust are dyno charts in my hands (half of those internet ones are pretty far off and use breathed on motors) or Roger Huntington's accelerometer readings. The problem with Huntington is he wasn't very descriptive of what he was testing, so his '69 Z28 could have been equipped with any parts and you'll never know what it pertains to (from my own numbers, looks like his didn't have the Duntov or the 2x4 cross-ram).

There's a '67 GTO 4-speed sitting in my garage, my one uncle had a '67 Corvette L89 and a '57 Corvette fuelie (just to name a few haha), another uncle has a '68 Plymouth GTX 440, another uncle has a fire-breathing '50 Ford Flathead, this is what we do. I know these cars and google is not the place to find answers, it's great for gearing and such but horsepower is a totally different animal.

Oh I agree with you buddy, but for my league PGTR where we use real life parts and situations and match it up with GT5. I have to look up a lot of info. What I do is join car forums and ask the people who actually own them questions. There is also tons of information on the forums I use as references. I have found this method helping me tons when It comes to me not knowing about a specific cars.

I tell you what, you need to find info on muscle cars I'm a pretty good resource as well (hell, I've owned or been under the hood of near most any of them you can think haha). Feel free to shoot me a message, I've got a lot of that not so easy to find stuff and it all comes from restoration manuals, dyno tests one of the 30+ hot rod builders in my did, just a stupid amount of useless old books and papers with pretty much any number you could possibly imagine!👍

I know there are quite a few head-scratchers that google can't help you with, I'm probably the guy to talk to for those. For instance, how much horsepower did the '54 Corvette make, with the factory Paxton supercharger? Good luck finding that on google, last I remember (got it in a book somewhere) I'm thinking it was 192hp.

There's a few websites that have correct info. I've had no problem finding figures thus far. I also cross check them with other sites, and sometimes the manufacturer has a downloadable PDF that has all the info. That's how I got all the numbers for my Boss 302 replica 👍
