I'm going to get SO billed for this...

Chuck Rock Theme (REQUIRES QUICKTIME and is 35Mb, so please make sure you can play it before urinating on my bandwidth)

Filmed on Kodak DX4530, because I had 5 minutes to waste.

Edit: PM me if you want the link. It's too big to leave it sitting around here. I'd exceed my bandwidth in 60 downloads.

Edit Edit: Now hosted at Rapidshare.

Yes of course. Those well-known computer-game specific artists Franz Ferdinand...

MUSIC WRITTEN SPECIFICALLY FOR THE GAME, NOT TRACKS LICENCED BY THE GAME MANUFACTURER FOR USE IN THE GAME

That would be just "What's your favourite music?"

I have the original SID theme tunes to......

Spellbound.

Master Of Magic.

Last V8.

One Man And His Droid.

The Human Race.

GoBots.

Panther.

Thing On A Spring.

Arkanoid.

Kentilla.

Phantoms Of The Asteroid.

I also have remixes of all of the above. :)

I also have a link to said files and their remixes if anybody wants it. :)

*Note - the best way to play SID files is by using WinAmp, with the SIDAmp plug in.*

Super Mario Kart for SNES, and Mario for SNES, and i think Stunt racer FX had some good songs.

Driv3r has some nice songs not sure if they are licensed or written for the game.

Zeldas have all been good.

I really like diablo II's but it gets repetitive real quick, so lately I've been muting it.

Ahhh, katamari damacy, the music in that game rules (as does the dialogue/music).

I agree with Duke, first place is by far Quake I, that was the most awesome atmospheric track I heard for any game. Creative, dark and creepy, from a musical genius. 👍

In the oldies, on the SNES, favorites are FFII and FFIII. Rock'n roll racing also kicked ass :D, Zelda and Mario classics were fun and catchy, and I'll add honorable mentions for Top Gear and F-Zero.

On the Playstation, it's wipeout, followed by GT2, and Tony Hawk.

Didn't came across anything remarkable yet on the PS2, besides movie games (LOTR, Star Wars games)

On the PC, I'd say most of Blizzard games have very good soundtracks.

Quite liked the music for Operation Flshpoint for the PC.
And the remix of Manic Street Preachers song at the beggining of the orginal GT, though don't know a) who did it and b) if it was written specifically for sony.

I actually bought the original MoH soundtrack and it's superb. If you are a fan of orchestral music, I highly reccomend it.

Metal Gear Solid always has good music, and Final Fantasy usually has some decent pieces. Zelda's alright, but I don't think it's anything to write home about.

On the NES, Bucky O'Hare had some killer tunes. The Green Planet and some of the BGMs in the Tanker stages were great. Almost all the songs would fit the quick gameplay nicely. I finally passed that game (on an emulator) about a month ago actually, that thing was freakin' hard.
I also liked some of the track songs in F-Zero. Fire Field had an awesome tune, that track could make you break a sweat too.

Lots of songs from NES and SNES games can be found if you do a proper Google search. Well, in MIDI form anyway.
