best message to send to a vanquished punter

I agree with HIM, not you. Being a jerk and a sore winner is just as bad as being a cheater. If someone sent something like that to me, I wouldn't find it amusing, or funny. I would just think you were stuck up. No matter how "clever" it is it will still come across as something like "NA NA! I beat you and you even tried to cheat!"

Good Lord! I was just asking a question! That's totally fine that you don't want to trash talk, I mean, nobody's telling you to go out and DO this kind of thing, I was just curious if anybody had thought of a really good one-liner for a funny situation. Why you have to bite my head off for it?

I doubt sending a negative or abusive message to any person who punts you is going to accomplish anything. I'm sure we have all punted at least someone before, maybe on purpose maybe not. Some of the lower level players may not be skilled enough to master the track and they will no doubt bump you around corners, not from being asses but not being skilled.

I don't think Francisco67 is trash talking/being an elistist or being a snob.

It's called sledging and it's something thats being going on in all forms of all games.

My favourite is "hey you look kinda cute in my rear view mirror".

It only becomes unacceptable when you start being specific like:

RedSuinit
"NA NA! I beat you and you even tried to cheat!"

When you have a bit of fun like "your bumper tastes yummy..". Then it's all in a bit of fun.

I think people need to rekindle with their sense of humors and stop being so PC

Usually, when I go over to my friend's house, and play GT5P online, I usually type the message I want to say, but don't send it. It relieves my nerves.

Homestly ... I think this forum is different.

Maybe it's just not my kind of humor, I just think it's a bit cheap and childish.

Best message to send a punter? Simple - beat them fair and square. Get in front then pwn the living crap out of them. Don't know how it makes the punter feel but it works for me. :D

I got some tard tonite in a yellow mines. I came from way back but, by the time I caught up to him, dodging the trail of wreckage he'd left behind, he was in second place and you could just tell he had absolutely no business being there. :sly: I followed him round dunlop where he was all over the road trying to block me, right round degner where he was all over the road trying to keep the car on the track as much as block me. I patiently waited for him to stagger round the hairpin, taking a fly swipe at where he obviously thought I'd have been if I hadn't held back. Then I sat, just off his bumper until he completely aborted the entry to spoon and went wide, trying to stay in front. I dropped a gear, floored it round the inside and that's all she wrote.

This is quite simply the funniest thing I've read all week

All the best

that is perfect ...I hit someone by accident, racing to hard and he sent me ? it had more impact than if he had sent me a foul message...was that you who sent me that message ..lol

Wasnt me but if i did then it would have been

? ? ? ? ?

Only sent a cheeky message once...

It was a Spanish guy and he was doing everything he could to put me off track without success. So I messaged him saying "Fernando Alonso School of driving?" I couldn't understand his reply, but I saw the words McLaren and Hamilton mentioned a couple of times...

how about sticking right on his bumper and putting pressure on him to visit the litter or totally crash out and then sending him/her something like....

Brmmmm tishhh Brmmmmmm tishhhh Brmmmn tishh tishhh crank Screeeeeech bang.

what difference does it make to send a punter a message? you're just gonna provoke him to do that even more. Drive fair, drive clean - monkey see monkey do.

Yes but monkeys can be taught simple things. These are punters we're talking about :dunce:

I just ignore the fact that they exist. They usually take themselves out in the race anyway. I've never lost a race to a punter yet.

Wow you're lucky, i've been the victim of punters many a time in the 10-14 online races i've done so far. But i was also racing in the beginner classes (was spending more time on drifting then finishing the races). I'm up to S class races now and want to start getting into the more experienced races. (My DFP pedals have failed me, Gas pedal stays on constantly at like 10-15% throttle when they're back in stock its G25 time).

But there was this 1 dude who just targeted me the whole race, talk about frustrating having to take it and not being able to leave the race. Not much you can do as people tend to be jerks/idiots when they are out of harms reach. once again private rooms FTW! :)

I almost never lose the race to the punter himself. But getting punted while getting from 12th (which seems to be my preferred starting position) up to the lead often means I don't have time to catch and pass the leader who was making time on the pavement while I was crawling through the gravel.

you are going to find this forum will now disagree with you
I happen to agree with francisco67. Just yesterday i messaged a German who punted me silly

Used an online translator thing, and sent him a few lines including calling him a s**t

nothing wrong with that, imo :D:tup:

Doesn't look like it.

I agree that you should send them something heavy over the playstation message service. You should treat a online punter like a playground bully.
stand up and fight or go and hide in a corner.
They dont deserve to be on the same Tarmac as you.
imagine Alonso (ES) punting Hamilton (GB) on the track , I bet Hamilton wouldn't send a text to Alonso pointing him to the FIA rule book he'll go and knock his head off. This you can't do if your racing online so the next best thing is send him some Family tree history.

Out run 'em. If they can't catch you, they can't punt you. Period.

There are good drivers that are punters also. I've been punted numerous times by people who were in p1. Most of the time they'll wait till the last lap to do it, but you shouldn't make the assumption that only bad drivers punt.

Well, I synced a bluetooth keyboard to my PS3 now (btw, any bluetooth keyboard should work, you don't have to have the Logitech one. I wanted a very small one and went with the compact Apple bluetooth model with no numeric keypad etc. It works great.) So now I've taken to sending some punters messages via the PS3. Very polite messages such as:

Subject: Please...

Content: Please try to race more cleanly. You have some skill and may get quite good if you practice driving properly. Thanks and good racing.

I try to include nice lines like "you have some skill" even if I'm lying. Also, I type fast, so typing that isn't a big deal for me, but sometimes I do cut it a bit shorter. But always polite, that is the key. Sometimes I will also explain the specific problem, such as when a driver on Daytona Oval gently pushed me into the wall like 4 times in a single race, causing me to get a penalty each time. (*argh!*)

Several times now I've gotten a "sorry" in response, which is good. So far I haven't gotten anyone sending me anything hateful in return.

This might be a good way for others to go about this also - if you can keep your temper in check and keep it nice. This has, I admit, been occasionally very hard to do!

your texting is admireable, and by no means am I attacking by this response. But no punter deserves ANY reply. I sit and boil, and shake my head, and sometimes they ruin it for me and i put my wheel up for a week(in hopes the next week someone will have learned what racing really is)and yet again I get royally pissed off at the amount punting. No amount of trash talk or any talk to me is worth it. I would never let the punter have the credit of knowing how pissed they made me.

If I were to be bothered the message would be...

"yeeeeeeeoooooooowwww
I think I won, dont you?"

Probably to some wallriding GB lol or someone that knows english.

"Maybe you should try learning to drive next time. Cheers."

Punting is the main reason I want damage in this game. Full-bore, GT-level damage, the kind KY has been talking about. Punters won't even finish one lap, much less the race.

I actually raced someone like that today. I was in first place and some guy came out of no where and cut a couple of corners to take the lead from me, he was penalized for it but once he got into first place he didn't let up. I let me temper get the best of me and congradulated him on the win by cheating. Then we raced three more times and he beat me every time, some by cheating and some without cheating. He messaged back and we got into a shouting match, more of a typing match. It ended after a few messages and neither of us were angry anymore, I told him about GTP and the whole registry thing. He heard of us, but never joined because he doesn't think his english is very good. Bottom line, don't jump to conclusions, and even better, don't say anything, suck it up and just drive.
