Which tracks still take you in awe, as you sight see around the place (instead of driving)? Which place has the most detail and love, in your own opinion?

Special Stage Route 5 and Tsukuba Circuit are my nominees. SSR5 has the insides of the buildings modeled! The amount of detail infield and in the outskirts of Tsukuba still impress me, and give good photo opportunities.
 
the Ring simply because the Sheer size of the model.
 
The Green Hell gets my vote as well. I think Spa is remarkably well done too.
 
Based on real wold locations,The ring, Spa, Monza,Tokyo(sheer size of model),London,Rome,Madrid, Le mans,Daytona, Indianapolis(,Montecarlo,tsukuba,motegi, suzuka,Fuji. eiger does have a nice full 3d mountain backdrop.
 
I will always have a spot for apricot hill, not sure about off course modeling so maybe I'm in the wrong thread lol.

The Ring gets my vote. Spa, Tsukuba and Monza are very well done as well.

What its always been my favourite track since GT1 and I think its well modeled happy?
Or cape ring, those marks on the barriers cool
 
Despite the Nurburgring looking quite stunning, especially the 24h version at night, Special Stage Route X wins my vote as its just stunning anywhere you go on the track. Tunnels, water, docks, it's stupendously beautiful. So much potential for photomode, and people always find news ways to unlock its beauty.
 
In my opinion Cote d'Azure, you see the cruise ships, the ocean, buildings all kinds of beautiful sights.

Monaco always seems to be a Hollywood set - cardboard cutout model.

Madrid was nice, the in shadow part of the track near the Hotel Asturias somehow evokes a smokey smell in my frazzle brain, the fountains and flowers - pretty.

SSR5 is a mixed bag - it has alot of impressive bits to it, but then some "hollywood" flat unfinished - don't look here portions - the overhead road signs are a good touch... but why repeat them all along the track?

The Day/Night factor of Nurburgring is good, LaSarthe is neat - but as it is a high speed track the little details track side tend to be left out (For performance issues on the Playstation) so certain parts of the track are a bit treewall from the 90's in style.

Overall most are Top Bun excellent. Even my gripes over LaSa Nurby and SSR5 are minor niggles.

Has a huge great Dam on the other side of the Esses which you will never see while you drive Steps leading up from the man made lake up to the various bridges ... Huge improvement from GT1 -

Yeah your spot on with the little details left out at Le Sarthe because in Forza 4 and I kid you not they put the McDonalds that is halfway down the Mulsanne on the right but its not there in GT5 to my knowledge
 
Yeah and the crowd are cardboard cut-outs.
Still, that ferris wheel looks baws.
 
For my money, Spa and the Ring seem to be the nicest rendered.

As much as I love racing at Monaco (*cough* Cote D'azur), the sheer Lego-ness of it irritates me. This is one track that really should be worked on a lot more in any future release. Some parts of it look like it's been dragged from GT4.

London and Rome seem like reasonable effort has been made, too.

Now that you mention it Cote D'azure does have a Legoish feel, that's why I hate racing it, but the views are just awesome.
 
The Ring with Spa coming in a close second. Spa has the rubber tire marks on the track a bit choppy.
 
Tsukuba looks just the same as it does in the best motoring DVD's.

Tokyo is another track I think is wonderfully rendered.

Le Sarth at night is just epic as you start to enter the main complex after driving in the pitch black.
 
I would have to go with Eiger Nordwand K Trail. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous.

after cruising around Trial Mountain last night for a few laps I found the Monkey...but no Nessie...only a dude on a boat....
