 He wasnt a professional race car driver like Tsuchiya ;) who won first place in the lightest and weakest AE86 out of them all.

That race was unfair. The track was tight and more suited to the '86's. Take it to Tsukuba and it'll be different story. Although the ae86 is an awesome car (a bit over priced here in australia for the japanese version)...
They go for $13000 aud and your not getting much. No IRS etc

Unfair? Not really, I would bet if it was a professional driver in the GT-R it could have easily hung on with the hachirokus. Dont forget that Keiichi's tuned AE86 lost to a stock RX7 on Tsukuba with a professional driver so im sure it would also lose against a GT-R.

On that same track, the GT-R could possible win. I dont see it as that much of a disadvantage. Think of the power and torque difference, other then that there are also weight and handling difference which both goes to the hachirokus.

Straight line, and corner exit acceleration goes to the GT-R.

Handling and braking goes to the AE86's.

I feel with a professional driver on the GT-R it would have done way better and might have won, thats only my prediction.

Yeah, AE86 are overpriced these days. Initial D has made the car very popular to drifters all around the world. Of course Keiichi Tsuchiya was one of the top people who made Initial D that is why an AE86 is the main car ;)

corner exit acceleration goes to the GT-R.
I disagree there. I reckon the 86's have much higher corner speed that that of gtr and hence, has better exit speed. They are so light they can just zoom through the corner with half as much brake application as the gtr....

I still reckon its a bit unfair. But theres no doubt the ae86 is a very capable car when modded up slightly.

I said better exit acceleration speed, meaning when they go out of the corner they accelerate im saying that the GT-R would have killer acceleration out of the corner. Even though the cornering speed itself is probably alittle less than those of the AE86 (its not as much as you think) the GT-R with its 4WD has better acceleration out of the corner. The cornering speed of the AE86s might be a tad better than the GT-R, but dont think its anywhere around 20mph or +/- its not that much. The AE86 are lighter and faster around a tight track but with a pro in the GT-R i think it would do as good if not better.

Yeah your right, I was saying the huchies have about 10mph better corner speed which is a fair bit. No doubt the GT-R has better acceleration outta corners though. Take it to Tsukuba I say ;)

Just downloaded the BM Mines GT-R one and man does that thing hammer. I love that car (love it even more on GT-3)

I say 5-10mph at most! The result would be different in Tsukuba, it would be different with a professional driver in the GT-R too.

Yeah that Mines GT-R has head snapping acceleration, just ask Keiichi ;)

I hear all this talk about how "good" the GT-R is but tell me why does it get spanked almost everytime in these vids I keep seeing?!?!

Dont know what you are watching but the GT-R rarely get beaten badly. On most occassions it win. Trust me, im a Best Motoring fanatic. Over 78 best motoring clip/ videos and that is only the one i saved. Most of the time GT-R is number 1. Mainly in the top 3.

That was the funniest and saddest thing I have ever seen! The front wheel cars looked like a dog with two broken leg's, chasing its tail! LOL,LOL,LOL! I wish me and my 510 was there and on dry pavement. I had a hard week I really needed that! Thnxs!
My car is SCCA legal as well. Haliburda Racing did my motor, Mr. Haliburda took me for the first ride. I was literally shaking when we stopped! Now I do initiations, wanna ride? LOL!

The link's doesn't work :irked:

who won first place in the lightest and weakest AE86 out of them all.
If it's lighter both cornering and braking is much easier.

Your a dumbarse. No car in this race is FWD. Both of the older cars (hachirokus) were RWDs. The GT-R of course is 4WD. Therefore your wrong. Its not surprising that the AE86s won. They are lighter and better at cornering plus those two drivers in the AE86s were great professional driver, while the GT-R is a normal TV host. Skills matter alot in a race.

Also the AE86 that won, is driven by Keiichi Tsuchiya and its his own personal AE86. The modification on it is amazing. Alot of hard work in his AE86, it is capable of taking down alot of car with way higher hp on the touge. He isnt all HP, and as you can tell that pays off. He won. His speed come from his great suspention work, from height to dampers on his car.

This is the second reply I have posted that has ended up way off topic! Rollazn, sorry to waste your time but how this message got here I have no clue. I guess it's time to lay down the crack pipe for good! Damn! This was a reply to some Civics, Mitsubithchie and a truck doing donuts on a wet parking lot. The Civ, Mit had what looked like furniture sliders under the rear wheels. The Ebrake was on and doing wanna be drifter manuevrs!

Yeah they always start it in the back too and it keeps being blocked. Take straight track times and fstests laps and the GTR takes the cake. Also with all these evo and STi vs skyline note that the aging skyline is able to keep up with even the newest subbies and evo's. wait till 2007, the GTR will own the track and wipe the floor with everything.

Off topic: Does anybody have any BM vids with the GTR NUR spec in them? Or any vids not just BM, becasue I only have like 3 with the NUR in them and none are BM.

this video is sooo old...It's all the driver and the course...If the GTR doesn't have the opportunity to pass...He won't win......"aging skyline is able to keep up with the newest subbies and evo's"...There's nothing particularly special about the new subs or evo's.......The sub has some improvement over prior models..but the evo is slower than it's predacesor...so no braggin rights there.

Actually the fastest Subaru STi out is the current Spec C. Its very light and actually very quick. No other old STi can compete with the current Spec C beside probably the 1998 22B... with 350hp.

When you say the Evolution is slower than its predacesors, how are you so sure? Have you heard of the Evolution VIII MR. Its probably one of the quickest Evolution out. The Evo VI is one of the quickest, at the time it was compared to the older STi Verison V and the Skyline GT-R R33. It was faster than both STi and R33. Even though the Evo VI is an old car its actually very quick and I think it can hang on with our current Evolution VIII MR which is coming sometime this summer.

Evo VIII MR 0-60= 4.3s, its very quick. It is also as light as the RS, if not lighter. It has some other minor upgrades including some quite amazing accessiories.

Evo VI RS vs Evo VIII MR= Evo VIII MR (my opinion with equally skilled drivers)

*note my favorite Evolution is the VI*

Also you cant say a car is faster than another car base on one magazine or etc... Like on Best MOTORing, I have seen one video where the Evo VI beat the Evo VII (current model at that time). I have also seen an Evo VII embarrassing an Evo VI in another different race. I think it just depends on the driver skill.
