Throughout the years the Japanese cars have generally made Porsche look like a fool. Not this time. The Boxster and the Cayman especially are nothing to be messed with.

I'm intrigued by how stable all those cars seemed to be. I realize the track was damp in places, but the BM boys are never ones to take it easy in the rain. Seems like all those cars are tuned for retarded monumental from the factory. All of them stable as boulders in the corners. Cars on BM never used to be like that.

It was funny listening to the guys, I didn't understand them, but they seemed to be having fun.

Maybe they were interested in testing the PDK. Have they tried it before?

Porsche Japan couldn't hook them up with proper manuals?

Apparently neither could BMW Japan. I've noticed it before with the recent BM vids, they quite often have automatic versions of the European cars.

Can't see the point in Nissan/Porsche comparison, even Cayman will win with a big margin. It's almost twice more expensive than 370Z. From recent Motortrend Laguna Seca lapping "Best driver's car"

Other than the R35, Nissan hasn't really "made Porsche look like fools". The
R35 has only been out for a couple of years, that really doesn't qualify as "throughout the years".

and Cayman and co. are how much lighter than the opposition, while having as much/more power.. not to mention 7-speed DCT tranny that is available on standard Z but not in the Nismo..

Yup. Best Motoring tends to be crazy biased towards Japanese cars, which is why they always tear it up against their US and Euro rivals. The best is when ever they have a Corvette...

yeah, just like Car and driver is towards BMW, and top gear towards almost anything british or european.. Best Motoring is just Japanese Top Gear with better drivers. As long as you can remember that, you can enjoy of this great entertainment.

Agreed. Best Motoring is great entertainment but it's comparos are probably best taken with a pinch of salt, unless they're all cars from the same manufacturer.

So according to that pic the R8 is almost as fast as the ZR1 despite having a billion less BHP?

And on a side note speaking of the R8 I finally saw one in person drive by me in Plano and oh my god I cannot tell you how brilliant it is in person. It is truely one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen and heard in person. This just slightly passed most of my vehicles on my short "omg want" list. The only 2 cars that are above this are a 2003-2004 Terminator Cobra and an CLS63 AMG.

I wouldn't know why they would want to. PDK dual clutch gearbox is suppose to be superior to manual gearboxes... Especially when you want to get the best lap. I doubt the fun factor would be the same though. I couldn't imagine driving an automatic Porsche... just doesn't sound right.

Heres another video of the 370z facing 911 Carrera PDK vs. Carrera S PDK vs. Carrera 4 PDK vs. Carrera 4S PDK (HQ)

Doesn't end up well for the Nissan once again.
