I've searched for this thread surprised not to find it already.

I could just be looking for your old reliable but in a way isn't that the best car in your garage overall??? The one you come back to time and again because you know it'll get the job done!

Here goes: I'm calling it the best car in the game! Why? Because it has no flaws. It will handle with the best of 'em. It's got speed with the best of 'em. It's a car you can count on to get the job done in any situation you need. It's going to be right there with the leaders, everytime.

Overall. Hmmm probably has to be a road car so I'd say ferrari 458. Just a blast to drive. Looks good has good pace and has excellent handling.

I LOVE to drive the 458! But...it's not a "clutch" car. A goto car in times of trouble. Nor is it flawless. It'll slide on you and you have to know how to handle that slide. It's not nearly as "tight in the hips" as the Zonda or many other top cars. The Zonda needs no tuning and no adjustment to perform well in "every-event".
 
May be a bit old school, but my hands down favorite overall is the Ferrari 430 Scuderia 07. Just handles like a gem and sounds and looks great.
 
430 scud or r8 v10 or gt-r are my go to cars for online road cars.

For race cars The minolta is a beast and requires no tweaking and is free from an aspec championship. The audi tt touring car drives very nice too.
 
But none of the cars here could even win the FF championships....

Stock lotus Europa in off-line physics with wheel.

One false move and you are in the ****. Like a mini yellowbird but with more chance of perfection.
 
I'm getting a head-to-head challenge idea. Something along the lines of having someone represent the car they feel is the best and competing one-on-one against other cars online at each of the tracks. Car has to be stock. Probably divide it up into 3 track groups. If there are 30 tracks we'd have to have 10 Zonda drivers, 10 scud drivers, etc... I'd race the Zonda at Nurb, Cape Ring, Grand Valley against 908 HDI, Scud, 458. Someone else would race the Zonda at 3 different tracks against 3 different opponents. Top two cars to win the most would have a battle at Nurb 24h. A tournament!
 
ZZII, 50K and beats Ferraris plus it's AWD.

On the other side the Caterham never fails me at giving me a whoopy ride :)
 
Best car depends on which other cars you are racing, and the regulations. If you arent racing equal cars, than it doesnt count.

When the cars are equal, its up to the tuning and the drivers skills. "Best" is a very complex defenition.
 
The 'best' car in my garage is the McLaren F1 Stealth. I'd run that car in just about every series if not for PD's race restrictions. It doesn't have the acceleration to keep up with the LMP class cars (the Indy races and 24h Le Mans come to mind) but it was money in just about every other endurance race it qualified for (have yet to open up the 24h 'ring endro). I think the only other car that i've driven that comes close is the FGT.
 
I like Goliath killers. So my vote would be for the little cars that take out competition they don't stack up against on paper. My personal favorite is the Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO CN.AR750106 '65. Great little car for performing above your expectations. Plus, it sounds great and is one of the beautiful cars in GT5.

Yeah, we don't have specific criteria for what is "best". There's cars in the game that will outperform the Zonda, but yet the topic post still declares the Zonda to be the best. Obviously the X2010 beats all cars in GT5 at everything in every regard, unless you're wanting a beauty contest in which it's all in the eye of the beholder. The Ferrari Formula One cars and Formula GT would make short work of the Zonda, as well, but yet somehow they've been overlooked for "best".
 
My Yellow Hat has a few races on his tyres... I use to play online using gt500 restrictions with some friends and get some nice wins with this car. Soon it will need another engine repair... Absolutly deserved. :)
