Best RX7 in GT4??

I recently bought black RX7(FD) RS edition, something like that, not sure, i am on work now.. And it handles great, i am really amazed.. it seems like the force feedback is much stronger on this car then the others.. 👍
So, what is the best RX7 out there, and what are the differences beatween the versions..??

The RX-7 Spirit R Type A is the best of all. First, it's the latest production of the car, it's very stiff. It has better straightway (better response) than older RX-7 (Type RS, Bathurst Type R with 16inch wheels, Type RZ), better cornering. The Spirit R Type A has ABS, tires size are bigger... Aerodynamics parts is also important.

I've got a Bathhurst and I'm very pleased with the performance. It may not be the "best" of all time but with around 400hp and tuned suspension, it runs with cars that have way more HP. I'd recommend finding one.

I always go with the Bathurst because you can buy it used (I'm cheap) but it will stay with most all of the cars in its class or a bit better. Handles on rails. It was good enough to win the El Capitan endo with oil and just a tire upgrade even though it is a 200 A-spec race. There might be better but the Bathurst is a good work horse.

Thx, you gave an idea which car I will drive in el capitan race 👍
You do have to be a bit "selective" as far as the competition. There are some in that race it can't beat. But I did beat it once, by less than 30 seconds...

I just want to try similar cars in the races, like I did my previous save game, I run El Capitan with Buick GNX and win it, without else than weight reductions :)
and Sport hard

Agreed 👍

This is the best

From the "simulation" perspective, I like the Mazda RX-7 GT-Limited (FC, J) 1985.

With N2 tires, and a stage 1 weight reduction, it's quite the budget ride around the 'Ring.

Well, of course the RX-7 LM Race Car is the best overall RX-7 in the game, but for street RX-7's, I don't know, I've never gotten one. I might try to snag the Bathurst when it comes to the used car lot.

I agree with the other person who noted that the first generation RX7 was nowhere to be found. With all the RX7 that they included in the game you think they coulda added just one first gen one. Heck, they included the early celicas and supras, as well as the early 80's skylines. Just another one of the cars that they really shoulda had included. This is just another post saying how they wasted too much space on the disc with excessive amounts of skylines, rx7s, evos, supras, etc. While not directly related to this threads topic, another car that they didn't include but should have is the Audi QuattroRally Car. They included the road version of the quattro, but not the AWD trend setting rally car. I think that descrepency is even worse. :odd:

I also like the Falken/BP 2nd Gen. RX7 that you win in the proffesional hall. I've got it handling great, and it brings more A-spec points than more modern cars.

The BP/Falken D1GP '03 RX-7 is by far the best. :) Sounds mean too, especially in the replay's.

Step the backend out, and leave it hangin' out there until you're ready to haul it back in. Pure driving pleasure...

I agree.. yellow Bathrust is very cool.. specially when you put black rims, black wing, and lower it down..
As I recall my memories.. , i started to use RX7 because one of endurance race i'm in.. i mentioned that RX7 pitted at half of others!!!...
well, when i used it, it do have lower tyre consuming.. good car...
now i'm waiting for Infini RX7 (FC) show up on used car lot

Don't know what the best is, but I love my white Bathurst. Set up A is Race, set up B is Drift, and it seems to do both amazingly. 👍

okay, so there are half of us saying the bathurst is better, and half saying the spirit A is better.

I'm agreeing with Mr. Gunma. the Spirit A is 10 pounds heavier, though it has more horsepower. I think the latter is more important. Of course, this is the best RX-7...meaning price is not an issue taken into consideration. If price were indeed an issue, i would probably sway more toward the bathurst. I haven't check the used car prices, but an FD is an FD. Figure out if the performance is really worth the price if you're tight on cash.

better make up our minds...

RX-7 Spirit A is most likely the best RX-7. For a lark, I used a modded version to win the 200 Mile Grand Valley Enduro in B-spec. It beat a RX-7 LM Race Car. Ludicrous, but true. I use it as my El Capitan Enduro workhorse alternating with a modded Super Elise.

I miss the style of the RX7 A-spec found in GT1 and 2...

Remember the aerodynamics?...GT3 and 4 RX7's look scrawnier in comparison..

...but, I believe I agree with the Spirit A....and I never thought to do the yellow Bathurst with black wheels and a wing...cool idea...I'm in.

The only RX-7's I've had good experiences with were the FD Bathurst and FC GT. I've reached 230mph with a mere 375hp in the Bathurst, and I've hit 11 seconds in the 400m with a 280hp GT. However, I found neither RX-7 to be that great in overall performance and sold them both.

Nice G-Man....that's what I am talkin' about!! I miss that thing!

Well, as promised, I went home and played with both the Bathurst (mine is white, so black wheels and tail) and the Spirit A...

I spent alot of $$$$ on the Bathurst and took it to Autumn Ring....

I spent no money on my already adequately modified Spirit A...no tail.

I don't care how fast they can go, so to speak, just performance.

Without a doubt, the Spirit A killed the Bathurst...no discussion.

With 100 less horsepower than the Bathurst, I had an (at least) 8-9 second faster lap time with the Spirit A...and much easier to drive.

...and the sound from the Bathurst with any exhaust was downright terrible.

thanks for listening...

I was lucky enough to find a yellow rx-7 bathurst with only 10km on it. With only 10 km it will get the HP of a new car, now it is almost as good as the rx-7 spirit.
