best sounding car

what car do you think sounds the best/weirdest/stupidest?
mine has to be the TVR SPEED 12 it sounds like a machine gun!

in general, the american cars sound better, since they tend to run at lower rpms. my personal favorite as far as sound goes is the Mustang SVT stock with no upgrades...its got a low, deep roar with a weird air-flow pitch on top of that that sounds like a jet engine on test course.

I'd have to go with the Gulf GT40 Race Car. One of my all-time favorite cars in real life and in GT3.

While GT3 has a small (very small) change in sounds in the game, I think this is one spot where they could defininetly improve. How fun would it be if you could put a more gutsy or a more whiney exhaust (weight, but great sound and maybe even a little power)? I think that would make the game so much cooler, just my opinion. At first, my favorite was the 787B, but after I heard it for a while it started to sound like a computer rev noise, maybe that's just me but that's what it sounds like. Right now my favorite is Ford GT-40 Race Car, I know I know it's everyone's favorite, but I love that gutsy sound.

I have 2 favorites. When you start reving, the 787B makes a low rumble that sounds like the dodge charger on Fast and the Furious. The second, the ZZII, starts low, but the sound goes high. Sounds like a mean car to me.

The Speed 12 sounds awesome. When I rev it up, the sound reminds me that the 12 cylinders are sucking and burning so much gas.

welll to me all cars sound the same aside from the gt40 and tvr speed 12. what i meant when i said they all sound the same is you can make them all sound the same. my cheated altezza with @ 1000 hp sounds like a shelby cobra when i start in 5th or 6th gear to me.

I'm breaking with convention here guys so ummm ... the Beetle RSi in stock trim has an excellent low-rpm V6 crispness thats hard to beat...

Failing that the rev happy four-pot screamer S2000 is good fun, as is the super thrashy Motorsport Elise, good hard braking down changes are excellent in both of the above.

But for sheer awe value the Skylines all make a superb straight six wail! Although I would say that - I've just bought one and am waiting for it to arrive from Nagoya, Japan

TVR Griffith 500 low grunty sound from, guess what a V8
Oh and the DB7 vantage noise is nice when you add the supercharger + V12 = Nice sound

Griff is a good classic V8 rumble .. lotus not so, the Lotus uses a flat-plane crank V8 which sounds less V8'y... The Griff is a conventional V8.

And uhh .. the DB7 isnt a V12, its a Twin-Eton-Supercharged V8
