My Mom has a Kindle Fire and it's pretty nice, but looking at other options too. I'd like it to play live streaming video, Netflix, and possibly be able to do some work on it maybe with Google docs. I tried watching live streaming video on the Kindle Fire and it did ok, but stopped every once in a while and said "can't play video", a refresh of the page would fix it. But if I can avoid that it would be fantastic. Any suggestions?

Some companies like Aldi sell some at times that are really basic.

Like 1Ghz single core CPU, 512MB RAM, 10" screen, 16GB storage for $99 or so.

Was browsing eBay tonight and the Google Nexus 7 caught my eye. Can be had for under $200. Anyone with experience on those?

That coming from a site called of apple insider.
Maybe they love apple products since they have news about apple products on the right side along with a price list about the ipad mini.

Is like a site called androidlover saying the apple ipad is stupid and overpriced.

The nexus is good, my co-worker has one and he loves it.

I work in a place that sells them.

I have not seen them come back for any issues.

And we sold a large amount of these nexus 7's.

If a few fail people jump on the all are faulty bandwagon.

For a well-known brand, the Nexus 7 will give you the best value. My brother has had one for about a year now and it's only running a little slower because he has very little storage left. Judging by that headline too, it's probably an issue with the first few batches - which can be expected for any product really.

I actually have a few sub $100 tablets. Not good for video, fine for reading. I have yet to find one that likes video much.

I have a few clients with them. I haven't seen anything bad.

And that's why, when I was in the market for a 7 inch tablet, I bought a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, and I could thoroughly recommend it. I don't know how much they are over your side of the pond though.

This. ^^ My brother has one and I use it often. For that price it's almost too good. It really depends on what your mother is going to use it for OP. Using it for email and browsing the web is really easy and simple. I'm considering purchasing one in a bit.

It's for me actually. :P

Was just comparing to the one my mom has. So yeah, thanks for the suggestions. 👍
