dude, do you talk like this in real-life? Does it work with chicks? :)
Greetings Sir Parnelli,
Much to the consternation and distress of those around me, I indeed speaketh in this manner much of the time, 'tis the cause of much head scratching and puzzled countenance.
Methinks the pursuit of the fairer sex is best left to those of fewer years than I, so i cannot attest to it's effectiveness.
As an aside good Squire, I had the distinct honour of being vanquished by your namesake, Mr. P. Jones, in a Trans Am Mustang. A fellow of most excellent talent and skill, and a gentleman of the highest order.
May thou be of much good fortune in yon pursuit of women. The chase doth provideth most of the fun!

You should tour with the Renaissance festeval. Or maybe you work at Middle Ages? That's where i'd go to pick up some chicks...er...."lassies" if i were you.

So i take it you actually met Parnelli Jones??? :D Raced against him?

Costa is probably the best to play in two-player, in citti it is too likely that one car will clip something and be left far behind.

Monaco is good for it too, tight, a few bumps - I don't see how it being used by F1s disqualifies it from touge use.

Someone mentioned the ring, try running in reverse the stretch between pflantzgarten (sp?) and the karrusell. Short but sweet and challenging as few know the track from that perspective. Obviously there's no timing, but if you can agree on a start and finish with a friend it's a bit of fun.

Good Squire Bone,
I indeed competed in the same race as Parnelli, A Trans Am event at Lime Rock in April, 1970. I was a journeyman driver and did not have a permanent ride. Other notables in the field included, Jerry Titus, Peter Revson, Mark Donahue, a very young Roger Penske, and Jim Hall, he of Chaparal racing fame. With a field of this magnitude, I would have been grateful to keep on the lead lap. This was the heyday of Trans Am, brutally fast Mustangs, Camaros, Javellins, the very best of Detroit. In my humble opinion the greatest racing series this country ever produced.
I also witnessed Mr. Jones race his 7/8 scale Bronco in a SCORE event. Absolute genius, as were alot of his contemporaries. You have chosen your Namesake well Good Sir!

In my view, it's not the F1 that disqualifies it, it's the fact that it's still a city course. The mountainside runs in other games have a more swooping, natural feel. There are a few sections of Monaco that feel like that, but the rest doesn't, IMO.

I actually like Monaco a great deal but it just can't be a Touge course in my eyes for two reasons...
1) The track surface just doesn't have the bumps needed for a Touge... It's just too smooth, just too much like a real race track.
2) It's Monaco! I mean, we are talking about a real world track with a history and character all of its own. Monaco is Monaco, nothing more, nothing less. Because of that strong association I make with the real world track it becomes nearly impossible for me to think of the course as a Touge instead of a Grand Prix track.

I think the Nurburgring could be a Touge Course, if they had walls instead of grass. Costa Di Amalfi and Citta Di Aria seems to be the best Touge Course.

aha, fair enough guys, I did not realise touge tracks should be non-urban.

still, it is one of my favourite tracks for close racing and it has some of the better hills in the game.

Personally, I don't think 'CdA' has that touge feel, sure it narrow but its in the heart of a city which is beside a mountain.

Costa is a bit the same, but has that REALLY nice transition from from city to mountain pass in the middle of the track.

Sure deep forset is in a forest, but it's to wide and track like for me.

***I'd have to say my fav course that is like a touge is CHAMONIX, a beautiful course that winds up and down a mountain. Once you get near the middle of the track thier are nice narrow cosecutive hairpins, and guardrails that give you no room to mess around. To me this is as close to "touge" as you can get in GT4!!!!:) :) 👍

I captured this test movie for 're-creating' the scene in the Initial D battle stage where Tak is chasing the Celica on a snowy Akina. Unfotunately there was alot of lag that day on Xlink and it didn't turn out as we wanted it.

So heres the slightly edited footage I captured, which Jardim edited. I believe I was spectating just to capture, RL otherwise known as 'DKING' was the 86, and Jardim was the Celica.

But it does give you a good idea of the CHAMONIX'S "touge" likeness.👍

I hope to make a real better version of that concept once Jardim gets back on.
And no DKING did not hit that wall while he drifted that hairpin.

Notice the california lag ty 2 DKING, jk DKING:sly:

That'd be me, its entertaining to come up with new ways to go around tracks, added makeshift turn-arounds here and there

Another good touge stand-in is Chamionix if you want to go down the snowy road

Yup, I like driving a Subaru 22b on that track.
Yea I noticed the lag in that vid, but was good views of Chamonix, and that Trueno and Celica had some nice twining a couple times.:)
