Best Tuning Track

I'm curious what everybody thinks is the best track for an overall tune. The track would have to test both straight line speed and handling evenly, but should also not be the Nurburgring. It's too long to have to do a lap and see if any time was made and it is a pretty unique track obviously and requires its own unique set-ups. So what do you all think is the best track that has all if the types of corners you may experience, straights, perhaps a little elevation?
 
Honestly, The Nordshliefe is the BEST track for tuning because in one lap it requires your car to be 1)A good handling car 2) Fast in sections(excess of 175mph) 3) fairly economical in terms of tire wear and to a lesser extent fuel. 12miles at full tilt is rough on any car let alone when its on a glorified country road(take no offence) and you cant pit any sooner. It is the most rigorous test of both the car and it's driver's endurance.

For shorter courses I usually go to Trial Mountain or Tsukuba.
 
I think we all have differing opinions on this subject. I am not a Ring rat. I find Nurburg the most difficult track to see the results of my changes. A shorter track like Grand Valley East Reverse or Top Gear Test Track allows for me to run a few laps, adjust, a few more laps, adjust, etc. and see the changes in lap time and keeping with the ghost.

You'll have to find what works for you.
 
I've said this in every thread of this nature and I still stick by it - For me Trial Mountain is the best track for overall balanced tuning as it has a rough track surface with many of the corners you'll encounter on any race track.

If you tune with absolutely no compromise, Suzuka might be better - however I like a bit of 'give' in my tunes to allow for adjustments rather than a ride that will shatter your hips :lol:
 
^this proves a point though. Every Driver will have their preference and the track will yield better results as the driver has practice there and is able to see improvements because they know how the track should feel.

Each tuner or driver he will go first for the track he always race on it and he know each section time and how the good tunes looks like because he practice on this track before and used to race on it 👍 for me i like to tune my cars on the RING .

My track of expertise is Le Mans, but unfortunately it is a track that requires its own tune because of all the straights, so unfortunately tuning there doesn't really serve me much good in an average online room. The Ring does have higher speed sections in the track as well so its diversity is great, though I personally don't like to tune there because with all the elevations changes there are a lot of unique corners that I wouldn't encounter anywhere else and I find it hard to gauge an accurate reading of my times because such a large track also provides a large margin for error.
 
I either use my own track I made in the course maker, or the Top Gear Test Track. If it's good enough for Lotus, it's good enough for me.

The shorter, more technical tracks are easy for me to tune on. If I mess up halfway around Trial Mountain, I don't have 5 thousand more corners to go around before my lap time is given.

Don't get me wrong, Nurb is a neat track, but not one to set up a car for (to me).

So for me it's Trial Mountain, Grand Vally East, and polish it up at "Dopey Downs" my personal generated track :dopey:
 
My favourite track to test tunes is the Nurburgring, if it runs good there it'll run good everywhere :D
The only thing that I adjust according to the track I run is the gearing ;-)
 
If PD wanted to make a really cool track they should make one that incorporates EVERYTHING. Different straight lengths from long to short and all the different types of corners, like esses, a carousel, all speed ranges, a hairpin, chicane, and mainly a bank turn. Whenever I'm on an infield road course and I get to one of the bank turn I get that unanticipated skidding feel as the tires go away. All the tracks I can think if to tune on dont have a high speed bank. I had been tuning on the Indy road course for that reason but most of the track is kind of awful.

The Top Gear track was good, it's just the ride height that I can't set because its too flat and I can't tune to riding elevation.
 
As I stated before Nurburgring Nordshliefe is the pinnacle of tuning. If you want a good track to tune at try Trial Mountain. It has a decently banked turn and two different straights. After that I'd say make your own course.
