A small poll to see who everyone's favourite TV/Film detective is...

Personally, I think Columbo's the man. When people encounter him, they generally underestimate him, forming opinions based on his somewhat scruffy appearance and seemingly low intelligence, but of course, under that coat and the cigar smoke he's sharp as a tack.

My fav TV detective has to be 'The Equaliser"....

Unfortunately, being fans of the Scottish national football team, we didn't see 'the equaliser' very often... :guilty: :sly:

CSI Miami = "Other"

CSI Miami = Not great detectives, IMO. Grissom from the original CSI, perhaps...
 
I had to say other because I am quite fond of Sam Spade from "The Maltese Falcon."
 
I agree with James Bond being t3h b357, but I shall pick Monk.. because monk is a germophobic.. and its awesome.

I picked Clouseau b/c I have never seen any of the other movies/shows with the others in them.

And I didn't really pay attention in Pink Panther...

Get Smart is the greatest television show ever. I think they're releasing the show on DVD relatively soon.

According to IMDb, there is going to be a new Get Smart movie sometime next year. I don't know about Steve Carell being Maxwell Smart - his comedy is a bit over the top.

Steve Carell's stuff from "The Daily Show" is pretty good. I could actually see him as Maxwell Smart. They just need to make sure that they include the cone of silence or I will be upset.
 
Frank Drebin. Just for the sheer fact that it's fun to watch. But for a true detective...I'll say, Axel Foley. :lol:
 
Monk from me because there was no Martin Riggs from Leathel Weapon, although i think he was a sergeant not a detective.
 
Tough poll to make, amp. Simply, there are too many TV/Move detectives out there. I do have one question. Does Thomas Magnum from Magnum P.I. count? Also, how could you forget Harry Callahan? :banghead: OK, I'm done. :)
 
Columbo. He always caught the bad guy.

Real detectives can't do that more than 60% of the time.

I thought about Sherlock Holmes, but Dr. M is always getting away from him.

I didn't put Magnum in because I really don't think he's a detective. All he does is drive about in that 308 (nice life for a detective I suppose). Similar reason for not including Callahan. He has a different style of detective work than people I would consider to be great detectives

Sorry to resurrect this, but I'd forgotten about it and hadn't seen this post.

Anyway, yes, I suppose it is up to the people who vote in it to choose, but it's my poll, so there :grumpy:
