Yep
Best Hardcore bands of the US

Wait, what kind of "hardcore" music are we talking about? Metal? Dance? Emo?

...If we're talking about metal (like I think we are)...

- Lamb of God
- Mastodon
- Pantera
- Cannibal Corpse
- Dethklok (hell yeah!)

'Hardcore' is very vague. There's hardcore dance, punk, hip-hop and so on. And then there's music that is just considered "hardcore" (ie: listening to death metal is "hardcore"). I think we're talking about hardcore punk though (after Googling a few of xMIKEx's list), which is often confused as metal. I can also see a lot of confusion between hardcore punk and metalcore arising.

I'm not much of a hardcore fan. In fact, the only hardcore band in my playlist is Bullet For My Valentine, and I'm not even into them much...

The only band in that list close to hardcore is Lamb of God, and they are metalcore. :p

Black Sabbath is the original, where do they fit in?
Nowhere.

Hardcore isn't vague, it's a music style. Hardcore on it's own is a music style, hardstyle also, and then we get metal, punk etc, but that is not hardcore. Hardcore is originated from house with bigger bass.

Yeah Terror is sick
and Jawbreaker

I m talking about Metalcore and Punk hardcore

Also possibly the best all around hardcore band would be Pantera

I don't think he's talking about metal.. so mebbe not Lamb Of God or Pantera.. but My favorite would have to be Drop Dead Gorgeous. They is the bomb.

 BLASPHEMY! Pantera aren't hardcore! Pantera are metal. Period.

You mean, "Pantera is metal..."?

There is a subset of Metal defined with the prefix "hardcore," however I think the term can be applied more as a blanket definition of things that are deeper, darker, a bit more "hardcore" (ha ha) compared to regular metal bands. It gets confusing I guess, and to be honest I don't care.

By hardcore, I'm pretty sure he means the newer punk/nu metal/emo fusion bands, like Armor For Sheep, Augustana, Atreyu, Rise Against, Senses Fail, The Used, etc...

Actually, the "hardcore" everyone confuses as metal is a sub-genre of punk; it's actually short for Hardcore Punk. Metalcore is the metallized version of hardcore (who would've guessed huh?). There's not much difference between the two and its hard to tell between them sometimes.

Usually if you compare a hardcore band to a metalcore band, the hardcore one is the one with the whiny punk/emo vocalist and generally isn't as aggressive. Good example:

Bullet For My Valentine vs All That Remains

The Fall of Troy
Protest the Hero
HORSE the Band
Thursday
As Cities Burn
Bear vs. Shark
Blessthefall
Chiodos
Drop, Dead, Gorgeous

Just a few of my favorites.

Honestly, you could not be more wrong. The only band up there that is close to hardcore is Atreyu.

Anyway.

Some of the best hardcore bands of the U.S. in my opinion include
-Beloved
-August Burns Red
-Haste the Day
-Seneca (Smaller band from NC Check out their Myspace.)
-It Dies Today
-Norma Jean
-Job for a Cowboy
-From Autumn to Ashes
-Blessthefall
-The Devil Wears Prada
-Heavy Heavy Low Low
-Misery Signals

...to name a few.

Also, hardcore is its own style of music. It does not include metal, metalcore, or any other types of music like that.
