Which wheel is the best compromise of motor noise, size, functionality and feedback greater than or equal to the Driving Force GT but below the G27 price range?

I just got the DFGT and I love it, even though it is out-dated. I was going to get the Logitech G27 but I had more important things to pay off lol

Yeah, that's about where I stand right now. I'm even thinking of just getting a wheel that makes no noise at all, like a non force feedback wheel. Only because for the amount I'm going to be playing the game and the time (really late at night), I cannot be having the wheel noise at all really, which really narrows my choices.

Already checked online, they are all around the same price, however I would ultimately love to get a g27, but the price is holding me back.

What exactly doesn't work with the g27 and GT5?

Right now the DFGT is in my budget, but I'm trying to decide if it will do what I need or be better if I wait. The sound issue is a real big deal to me. The G27 is exactly what I need.

It's funny because I'm very slowly talking myself into it.
The main issues holding me back are the not being able to turn down the FFB in GT5, I heard it's too strong.

You can totally turn it down in the wheel setup menu. I haven't tried all the settings, but I have mine on...I think 4 and it feels fine to me. The DFGT is definitely noisy, but I have no issues with mine performance wise at all. Just wish it had those g25/7 pedals and shifter :p

If you don't think you can afford the g27 or it's going to take a really long time until you can, I don't think you'd regret buying a DFGT at all, especially at the current price.

Most of the Logitech wheels will do the trick, it just depends on how much you want to spend.

From cheapest to most expensive:
DFGT<G25<G27

I think I'll wait it out to see how the T500RS does. Rumors going around that it may go for about $350 not $500

dfgt. noisy as hell. i got mine for $100 shipped on amazon, i guess i can't complain.

i thought about the fanatec carrera wheel too, but no one seems to use it for drifting.

i have a G27 Wheel. I got it for $300 brand new. if ur waiting on the T500RS for $350 why not get the G27 for $300

Becuase the t500 looks amazing, I would easily pay another $50 for those pedals, and 100% full support in GT5 (FFB control)

If it retails for $350 and gets decent reviews, and is relatively quiet, I'll be picking that sucker up, but either way I'll wait it out.

Anyone have a release date?

G25 is awesome, i'm using that wheel to Drift or learning to Drift...my car of choice is a BMW 135i....

Even if you find a Driving Force Pro for cheap, don't get it. Countersteers too damn slow and the people downstairs can hear it through the ceiling.

I have a DFGT; at first i thought it was awefull, now its okay. You just need to find the right settings for you.. (ffb level)..

What i really miss in the DFGT is a handbrake lever and larger flappy pedals. When your drifting you basically cant use any of the buttons on the wheel because the wheel is spinning 900 degrees..

Other then that the build quality is sufficient. (much better then the MS wheel though!!!)

could you show me how you did that?

i was thinking of mapping the "downshift" shifter as an ebrake and just do the downshifts with a button.. But i also thought of doing that for the reverse gear.. Why is it not just one of the gears!!?!?

Ah well; looking forward to see how you made the ebrake..

For the g25 if you unplug the power cored and leave the usb pluged up it still works with out the motor. i play like that at night you just have to get use to the wheel not resetting itself. I don't know about the other wheels so i can't say anything about the g27 or DFGT.

Fanatec actually is bringing out a new wheel (raplacing the PWTS). Its shipping around januari or december.

Thats the wheel i would go for, but i just bought a DFGT a while ago..

Anybody want to buy my DFGT? i have a wheelstand pro with it..

it was annoying haha. if you really wanna do it i can walk you through it.

Trust me, I know about the noise. My DFP back in the gt4 days sounds exactly the same as the DFGT, loud as hell, definitely not going back to that, hated it for drifting.

I'm not getting the G27 due to not being 100% compatible with GT5

So I'm either waiting on the T500RS or getting the Fanatec GT3RS V2 and Clubsport pedals...

The wheel looks very good. Im really thinking of selling both my MS wheels and the dfgt and then build a whole rig for a seat, GT2wheel, ebrake and monitors.. But im no technician by far.. Im gonna need some help..
