If I was only racing GT5 I would get the T500, if money is an issue go with the G27, both sets include pedals. I have a T500 and a Fanatec Elite, I prefer my T500.

Because you probably paid for your two wheels... but if someone gave an Elite to you with a 50% discount then you might like the Elite better...:dopey:

Just kidding

Yes, look if you can get a DFGT or even the older DFP on Ebay. Or maybe a used Fanatec 911 Carrera. It was the budget wheel from Fanatec and includes the standard pedals and the 6+1 Shifter.

In Europe you can get the Thrustmaster RGT for ~70€ (new), but I am afraid, it is much more expensive in the US http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029XGV4U/?tag=gtplanet-20 It is not officially supported by GT5, but I tried it and it works fine!

You don't have much more options with a ~100$ budget AFAIK.

All of the mentioned wheels should give you a better driving experience, than the DS3. You might be slower at the beginning. It's all a matter of practice.

Whatever you choose, I hope you enjoy it :)

The DFGT IMO is the best value for money wheel... great for starters but the pedals arent that good. But if you want the best for GT5 IMO its the thrustmaster T500 (its the GT5 official wheel) and the DFGT was the GT5 prologue official wheel (being the official wheel is diferent than being officially supported - it means that the game was designed with that wheel in mind)

I don't want to be pedantic, but I'm sure the wheel was developed with the game in mind? I'm pretty sure the wheels come after the game etc.

Sorry, I like the truth.

I have the T500, i really wished they'd given us better feeling buttons on the wheel? They're hard and unforgiving. I was expecting a really glamourous feel to the click.

DFGT came out long before GT5 though. A lot earlier.

Tribolik is right:

DFGT = GT5 Prologue
T500RS = GT5

These are the "official" wheels. For GT4 on PS2 it was the DFP.

So the DFGT was released about 4 years before GT5 arrived, I would guess...

Heck the Elite was released before GT5.
Remember GT5 is still being released in bits.

Between g25 g27 t500rs and dfgt wheel which has best FFB in gt5? I was told dfgt had the best between the g2x and dfgt.I know the pedals are probably most definately the worst.

Out of those T500RS. Fanatec has also high quality wheels that work with GT5. They are planning to release their top of the line PC/PS3 wheel, the club sport wheel this year.

I have heard two rumors, maybe someone can confirm?

1) DFGT has much better FFB than DFP. More like G25/G27?

2) T500 has much stronger FFB on PC than on PS3?

Yeah T500rs FFB is quite a bit more powerful on the PC. I suspect console devs try to put a cap on the amount of FFB for some reason. They always want to control everything on console (wheel range, etc). On the PC you can override all that and feel the wheel at it's full potential 👍

Granted the FFB on dirt 3 is real strong. I turn it down and on GT5. But some people crank it up to 10 so those cats could probably use more ffb
