thanks

Great choice!!! This will get kind of confusing. A 90 DSM has the 6-bolt 4G63 but the 90's have alot of things that are different, such as the mounting of the ABS, fuel lines, trannys are a little different, some parts also were different, making the 90's hard to get parts for. The 91's used the 6-bolt as well and are one the best years to get. Parts for the 91's are interchangable from 91-94 give or take a couple. The first half of the year of production for the 92 used the 6-bolt engine with the 4-bolt rear end, this is the BEST year to get. The second half of the year of production for the 92 they switched to the 7-bolt... 7-bolt = bad. So if you could, get a 92 befor the June production.. So get a 92 with the manufacturing date of April or May, this will give you the best of both worlds, being the 6-bolt with the 4-bolt. The 91's have the 3-bolt rear end, but dont let this scare you away, the 4-bolt rear ends are easily changable, pretty much bolt on. I have a 4-bolt rear end on my 91 TSi. So pretty much, get a 91 or April/May 92 and you will be in for a fast ride.

i think ill go with a 91 how do i tell on the were is the date on the 92 and about how much would it cost to do the 92 rear end switch to the 4 bolt on a 91.(now all i got to do is find a car).
thanks again

The 91's are definatly the easiest to come by. The early 92's are a rare. What you would need to swap the 4-bolt rear end into the 91 is to find a parts car that somebody has, and they usually can run you about $800 including the Transfer case. The 3-bolt rear end wont set you back any unless you plan to run 11's. I ran 12's just fine with my 3-bolt, but me and my brother came across a 92 rolling chasis that had a 4-bolt that I took out of it. The 3-bolt rear ends tend to brake around a mid 12 second car. So if you want to just drive your car and lightly mod it, dont waste your time worrying about it. To find the manufacturer dates on the DSM's, you open the drivers door, and there will be the little white label most commonly known as the Vehicle Identification Label, this is the tag that has the VIN, the cars weights, tire pressures and all that crap. Somewhere on there it will have a date that reads like April 92 or May 92 or June 92. This is the vehicles manufacturer date. Go check out www.dsmtrader.com. All the DSM cars and parts you could ever want. If you check ever day you will most likely find urself a car within a week near your area wherever that may be.

Check this site out. www.buschurracing.com.. They have a tech forum and endless amounts of parts to put in ur DSM. If you go into their Power Stages, it will tell you everything you need to do in what order to tune ur DSM. There is 3 power stages. I have done all of stage 1 and a little of stage 2 so far in my Talon. If you buy JUST performance parts from Buschur Racing, It will cost you no more than $1,500-2,000 to hit the 12 second time slip. Very simple mods and are all bolt on.
