BESTuners Nissan 300ZX 2seater 89 Report
Driver: .Duck.
Deep Forest Laptime: 109.174
NOTE: Review tested with S2s, laptime tested with R4s.
Exterior:
Whenever I see a 300ZX on the street, I feel like I could puke. Theyre just ugly. The headlights look like they were pasted on by a 5-year-old kid using Photoshop. The rear is just as bad. The whole backside resembles a rolled-up wrinkled short. It just isnt really pleasant to look at. But then again, I really cant think of any 80s cars that actually looked really good. Anyway, lets just hope that it performs well. Or else itll be a total waste of money.
The Good
:
With almost 800 hp, and with a truckload of torque at low revs supplied by the Stage 5 turbo, this car is no slouch. It has plenty of get-up-and-go, so much that you have to use half throttle on the first three gears so you wont fall victim to wheelspin. Getting to its top speed, which is exactly 190 MPH, isnt hard. Far from hard. 250 MPH probably isnt a real stretch for this bugger.
The handling is pretty good. Theres a bit of understeer when youre turning it at higher speeds, say 90 MPH, but thats it. It sticks to the road like glue with racing tires on. 👍
Around the track, its really fast. Itd be an awesome contender for the Sleeper Car of the Year award. It can make mince meat of my Saleen S7 (and my S7 is fully modded and has one of my own set-ups on it, mind you). So when you get to play with your buddies, for a sprint lap, choose this. Imagine the look on your opponents face when you slay his brand name supercar.
And the bad:
The wheelspin. If youre new to throttle control with a wheel, then indulge in some TCS, so you wont spin out. If you go over a rise in the road, with full throttle and turning the wheel at the same time, one of your wheels spin, and then you start sliding. You have to catch it and get back in control within the first second, or else youre wall fodder or playing in the sandbox or mowing the grass or whatever. You get my point. Theyre all results you want to stay away from.
Another problem is the body roll. It gives it the momentum to start and keep the slide going. I personally loathe body roll, and thats why my #1 complaint (not that there are many

) about my set-ups is that theyre too stiff. For the first time in my tuning experience, I had to really stiffen up the stabilizers. And that helped some.
Conclusion:
Its an awesome car if you want to amaze your buddies and yourself. Its a great car to race around the track for a lap or two and get an incredible laptime. But theres just too many liabilities for it to go for an extended 7-15 lap race.
For a measly 20,000Cr (I think I paid that amount for it), you can get a car worthy of being a sleeper and a supercar slayer. I say get it when you can. Youll be surprised on how fast it is.
