I have an actionmax evo for my PS2. It's a device that lets you copy files from your memory card to a USB stick.

Sometimes it works great!

Today it erased my GT4 save, which I was trying to back up.

I don't know why it erased it instead of backing it up, or else I'd give more detailed information here. Still, my advice will remain the same:

BEWARE!

Rant's over. Thanks for listening.

Yeah, I got that thing.. never gave me any problems. Actually makes me more comfortable having it around, since I can make regular backups of my game saves. Just in case, ya know.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the USB stick is incompatible with GT4's Photo Mode. Pisser.

I gave up AR MAX for save backup
since I use HDAdvance along with execftp
using ftp to download and upload save directly between PC and MC
no mess what-so-ever

Hm.. here's a thought... I wonder what PS3 will do in this regard? What with it's wi-fi and all, it'll be hooked into the same network as my computer. I wonder if it'll let me transfer game-saves to my computer directly?

Or, going back to my previous complaint about the MAX USB stick, I wonder if you can direct-transfer GT Photo Mode pics to the computer? :)

I had to buy a new MC recently because of ARMAX, but I guess it was my fault. I wanted to make a backup of all my saves, but instead of copying them to the pen drive I moved them, including my system configuration. I don't know if it was because of that but after doing this my MC wouldn't recognize any of my saves, nor make new ones.

I bought a new one and the first time I used it the PS2 asked me to format the MC. So I thought maybe there was a way to format my old MC. And there was! A software called MC Killer did the job. Of course, you need a modchip or some other kind of mod that enables the PS2 to run burned software CDs.

After all it wasn't such a bad deal, having two Memory Cards is way better for managing your saves.
