Y'see, having spent couple of years with a regular gang on MW2 it is very rewarding if you're in a team. If there's 2/3 of us only on then we struggle, get 6 and we'll rarely lose.
That's something BF3 won't do, talking between squads, which is annoying. Or at least BC2 didn't and I've heard it's same again. There may not be any direct rewards like Spotting Bonus, but there are rewards in the form of winning!
I have no idea what I'll end up buying. I was very underwhelmed by the BF3 beta. Sure it's not bad, but it just feels a bit lacking in finesse of control/shooting. Whereas MW has always been quite direct, which is how it should be. Just felt I was swaying all the time in the beta. No pre-order, just wait and see what people think of the full version.
MW3 doesn't need to do much for me to buy it tbh. I still enjoy MW2, even with the hacking to death it's had since PSN went down. Get rid of teamkillers, better maps, better balance of guns is about it.
I played MW and MW2 religiously for a long time as well... But the thing that got to me is that I feel MW is more of a reaction type game then using strategy... The guy with the fastest reaction time will come out on top. Playing MW I always got really stressed and after a few games I have to take a break because I'm just buzzing from stress and adrenaline not being able to concentrate anymore. Its not a bad game, its just not the gameplay I'm looking for. BF is a little more relaxed in pace and I can take my time and think of how I'm going to attack the enemy. This is also due to the large maps they use compared to MW. The large maps enable you to really flank opponents and surprise the if you sneak around succesfully.
Also the teamwork element is far more evident in the BF series imo. In squads of 4, you really can help each other a lot (giving ammo, repairing vehicles or giving health/reviving) AND you get rewarded for it. In MW even if I was in a squad/team with people/friends I knew quite well, you always had the guy that tried to get the nuke and didn't really help the team out... then its game over once he gets it... There is also no incentive in MW to help each other out like in BF. So in the end I just prefer the BF experience over MW.
Also what did you mean with talking between squads? As in being able to communicate with a squad outside your own? If so, then this is true you cannot communicate with players outside your own squad.
