Afternoon,

So I am having trouble playing my own music whilst racing.

I have unlocked the Driver Challenges which gave me a message telling me i have unlocked the user BGM Music. So I went to the options menu and activated BGM music and selected the "MUSIC" directory but during a race all I get is sound effects ie. engine, tyre noise etc. but no music..

All the music plays fine in my Music folder on the x-bar on the PSP main menu.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Or any idea what I am doing wrong?

As far as I can tell, GTPSP only likes normal, DRM-Free, MP3s. The PSP would play AAC files (from iTunes) fine, but I had to convert them to MP3 to make them play in GT.
 
My music only started playing after I upped the Bit rate to 192 and now it's playing everytime without fail
 
i had this problem at first. make a folder IN the "MUSIC" folder, and title it GTPSP and put the music in there. it should work
 
It reads staright from the MUSIC folder, if you tell it to in the options. That is what I am doing.


Another thing to note that may help others is that, if you actually read the in-game manual, is that it says it will only read MP3 files that are at 44.1khz.

Some of you that reformatted your MP3s for different bit rates or whatever and made it work probably also changed this without realizing it.
