Hi guys, new poster here, been lurking for about two months, decided to finally register. I must say that this is a great community and I always find a nice topic that keeps me interested when i check the forum.

Now to the topic: when i buy a new car from the dealership after the last patch i always get one with lower bhp than specified. Example: Subaru Impreza `07 which i got for the new seasonals was standing at 303 bhp but when i checked in the garage was exactly 276 bhp. I then proceded to do an oil change and it brought me to 304 bhp. I thought it was just a glitch but soon proved wrong since another car, Nissan Fairlady Z `08 had the same issues, 331 bhp in dealership and in the garage 321 bhp. After the oil change went up to 339 bhp(or lower but can`t say for sure because i racer it and engine break in may have affected it).

Long story short, this decrease seems to be happening to all my bought cars from the dealership after applying the patch and I was curious if it`s your case too or I`m the only one with this peculiar symptoms.
I have searched for topics about this but could not find anything similar so apologies if this is covered somewhere else.
Cheers!

Welcome to :gtpflag:

As the others have stated, you'll need to break in your car to get the advertised HP. Oil change does some help if you need more power early on.

You need to drive the car for (approximately) 150 to 200 miles to fully brake the engine in. Afterwards, you would reach the advertised HP. Been like that ever since the game was released.

Changing the oil of a car will give you a rough 5% additional HP, if I'm not mistaken.

I believe that in the UCD, it will state the 'advertised' bhp. The reason there may have been such a large disparity between your 2 examples could be the mileage on the 2 cars. 1 may have been 'broken in' and the other may need an engine rebuild. Like I said, the UCD may just be listing the 'advertised' bhp for said car.

Simple oil change will give you 'advertised' power.

Further driving will increase HP even higher.

This isnt anything to do with the patch, if you kept your eyes open you would know that this has been around since the start of the GT series.

No need to get an attitude dude.I just noticed this earlier as well. Not all of us here are Super Gran Turismo fans and just started with GT4 or GT5.Can no one ask a simple question anymore without getting a sarcastic comment from someone who thinks they know everything?

Thanks for all the answers guys, I honestly don`t know how I missed that mechanism happening, been playing for a while now so I should have known better. By the way I have been playing previous games in the series, I`ve only missed GT 3 so shame on me for not noticing...:nervous:
