Hi guys, i was installing Halflife ( please don't laugh ) a moment ago, install done but the CD in my DVD-ROM unit didn't stop spinning, tried everything: pressed the eject button, tried to eject it from Windows, it just didn't work......The CD just kept spinning :ouch: :grumpy:

So the only sollution was to restart my PC......so fine so good, after restart got my CD out, but it was baking hot   .... The problem is that, the tray door opens and closes fine, pop a CD/DVD in, the light comes on about 5 times, and then, instead of starting to spin, it does nothing......In my computer sais that it's no cd in that drive :indiff: :indiff:

Could be something wrong with my DVD-Rom ?? Please help guys, any help is appreciated

PS: Please excuse my English, hope you understad what i said 💡

Yes, your cd drive is screwing up. You should get it checked out by a professional, because the internals can be tricky in those. Better yet, there are new drives out there with great options (Like Dual Layer DVD burning). They can be had for pretty cheap, so you might as well upgrade.

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHH you were going to play Half Life ? AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH HAR HAR HAR . Just kidding , just kidding. Anyhow you should probably just buy a new DVD ROM drive or something, if you don't have the time for a professional. Roms aren't that expensive either, there pretty cheap even for a good one

Sorry to hear the conclusion that my DVD-Rom is broken 👎 :indiff: Sure that they aren't expensive, and i can afford a new one, my dad goes like CRAZY when he finds out that something's wrong with the PC, and all he sais that i broke it :grumpy: :grumpy: I can't stand this piece of **** :yuck:

He doesn't have the slightest idea of what's INSIDE a PC......he just knows how to operate it :indiff:

For example, the blue neon on my case suddenly turned off......and dad said that it was affected by overclocking of the CPU i did a couple of days earlier :dunce: Of course it wasn't properly plugged in, just plugged it in, and, ta-da!!! It worked

Anyway thanx a lot for the help guys 👍

My dad is so out of date, that he doesn't use computers. I build/mod them for fun. Try connecting that gap. He doesn't even question what I do on the PC anymore, because it doesn't concern him. :D

Well, you're lucky then :D The problem is that we only got 1 PC in the house, where my parents keep the files, e-mail, important documents and so on.......so..... 💡 💡 it does concern them :(

Theoretically it's my pc, but i use only 'bout 85% of it :indiff:
