Biggest game-changing feature Polyphony could add to GT series?

Arcade mode being on a totally different spectrum of the GT life mode. Have the arcade mode be useful and feel like a totally different side of the game altogether with it's own seperate online modes as well. Make it have it's own campaign with updating challenges every day or every week like seasonals.

For the different Arcade mode there should be different physics altogether. I know you guys are gonna come out with the real driving simulator and stuff but it should feel different like in GT1.

Why different physics? That would kill arcade mode even more than, well everything PD has done to it already.

Also adding a campaign or whatever to play through is just making it an annoying GT Mode clone. To be honest, Arcade Mode is probably a better name for GT Mode as it's basically an arcadey experience with sim-like physics. The mode that GT is missing is a sim mode that emulates PC sims.

Why? What possible positive could there be for that?

A more diverse AI, instead of just racing bone stock cars, maybe have every other opponent drive a custom tuned car instead.

They already do this. Maybe they don't drive with body kits, rims, etc..

But as an example, go to the Polyphony Digital Cup and click on the "Typical Opponents" button. All the cars will have substantially more power than they do stock if I'm not mistaken.

They're upgraded cars, that's why alot of the time the AI's exhaust note is nothing like the stock sound.

ONLINE DRIVER CHANGE CAPABILITY
So we can form driver teams for 24hr races, and different drivers from anywhere in the world can make stints, just like real 24hr racing.

I think PD could pull a very easy to do feature that would increase the longevety of the game.

A track creator that can actually work.
Upload our tracks to the main servers of GT6.
If users like the track they could give a positive vote to that track.
In seasonal events PD could pull some of the tracks from that database and include them in the seasonal.
Users could create championships with a tracklist from that pool. For example we could have a Championship with all the tracks made from users that are similar to the ones on the LMS championship.

It is a matter of simply giving the power to the player. We in the GT comunity love to race, love tracks as much as we love cars. I don't have a doubt that people would create stunning tracks and championships

BETTER ONLINE features!

- solve connection issues for real
- add lots of lobby search options

This and the option to have predefined lobby's like you have in Seasonal events but for the online environment. Like endurance races, F1, Le Mans, etc. In my point of view one of the bad things in online are the lobby's that are created.

Leader boards for both online and offline races. Would bring out a whole new level of competition.

Return of A-Spec points with a leader board for those as well.

Ability to play career mode races with friends online.

I definitely think A-spec will be more social-based. I also believe that may be the future of most racing games (if it isn't already). How social? No one knows, but I'd also like to see the license tests integrated with our friend lists.

Biggest game-changing feature?

A car-builder mode where you could build your own car from a number of different components. A bit like the modding I suppose, but with more options and in a controlled environment and no ten digit BHP numbers.

Or like this game:

Why not design components rather than use presets? Somethings may need to be preset, but things like tire size, engine displacement, wingspan, etc should be free to have any value between the minimum and maximum.

It would be nice if we could do this for parts related to normal cars, such as picking exactly how much weight we lose with weight reduction, how much the displacement is increased, how large wings and canards are, etc.

The only one I know who started in karting is Michael Schumaker (if thats how its spelled).

Almost all drivers of any significance in F1 and every world champion except for Damon Hill I believe, in the last couple of decades, started in karts. Senna has said that two of the best drivers he ever faced were karters, Terry Fullerton and Mike Wilson, the only 6 time World Champ. So long as this option is in the game, it would make for a great start to career mode:

Here's what I would like to see:

More American cars, specificly classics, vintage, muscle ect. There's no reason why we should have 40 skylines, 30 miatas ect instead of a bigger variety. Novas, road runners, amx's, bel airs ect.

Goin on more American cars, some low cost options as well. Aspens, darts ect with slant 6s, vegas, pintos. You know the older "underdogs" and the smaller cars and classes that were americas answer to European road cars.

Real mods and full and realistic customization. Brand name carbs, intakes, headers, exhaust, brakes ect. If the car didn't come with a computer, then why have a "computer tune" option? You can turbo or supercharge anything in the real world. If if didn't come with abs factory you should have to buy that as an upgrade, not have it automatically included ect.

Livley editor

Classic race series, such as SCCA

1/4 mile racing at real tracks.

More American tracks. Sebring, the new Baltimore grand prix street course, Englishtown and Cecil County Dragway 1/4 tracks, ect

Motor swaps

The BMG music glitch finally fixed

Sponsors

"Premiums" should be the new "standard" like it should have been. Even if it means no 1000+ car lists including 400 repetes of the same car. Quality not quantity.

More in depth and variety in career mode. 1/4 mile, rally, scca, le mans, v8 supercar, ect dedicated series and racing seasons following the order of the races in the events. I like the typical setup we have now, but I think dedicated seasons should also be added so after you blow through what we got now, you still got half the game to get through.

Import your GT5 garage into GT6, as in past games.

These are some of the basic ideas. Up to PD to implement them well, as far as all of the specifics.

Some great ideas, I like the degree of difficulty for more money idea and let's scrap the xp system all together.

Some things I've been waiting a long time for:

Have the option to turn on recurring costs of fuel, tires, car damage incurred during a race (Forza does this IIRC). For those who want to add a bit of realism and to make the career mode last a little longer as we'll have to run more races before we can buy better cars.

A livery editor where I can import .png images from a usb stick resize, crop, change color, etc. to match my car's theme. A metric ton of car stickers would be great for this too, ones you can unlock (for free) as you win races.

Rolling starts for every race, online or offline (bring back qualifying too). And please, please, please give the pole position the inside lane when you start a race. I'm tired of earning pole position only to have 2nd place take the lead on turn 1 by stealing the inside line :eyeroll:

Get rid of the 'tranny trick', it's unrealistic.

Have permanent online racing rooms (along with user created ones still, for custom created race series' - referenced later) where the first person in the room is still the host, but can change a few options as desired. For example:

500PP race room (more than one, many for each country), host can't change the PP or that it's a shuffle room, but can change tire type, driving aids, still vote on track selection, things of that nature.

Like in GT4, every car you own in your garage is available in arcade mode. Only in GT6, those cars in your garage appear in the online garage as well. This will give us better spec races, and the host can select which cars can/can't be used in that room.

Get rid of SRF! There is no need for this, you are alienating your core fanbase with this.

Unable to kick someone from a room who hasn't incurred many penalties. And similarly, auto boot someone who has incurred lots of penalties and/or has been driving backwards for a set length of distance (1/8 mile?), obvious tom-foolery.

The biggest improvement needed is the penalty system, it needs to be VERY sophisticated. It needs to detect when someone would normally get flagged in a real race for such behavior like:
bump drafting when entering turns.
when a car tries to divebomb into a corner and knocks you off the apex.
when someone intentionally turns into the rear of your car to try and spin you.
boot players who are driving backwards (also in qualifying sessions)
PD needs to look over the GTP OLR Rules and base a penalty system off that basically 👍 but they won't 👎

Integrate a user based race championship into the career mode so we could make our own custom F1 or rally race. Maybe make one required to finish career mode (could be a 1 lap race if we wanted) and let us make one in offline mode and then port it for an online series for others to sign up for.

Of course realistic sounds, GT Legends (from what 2005?) sounds are better than in GT5.

I'd like it if they tweaked the acceleration amount based on the turn radius. It's my opinion that you accelerate too quickly in GT5 when exiting tight turns, they should slow it down a little until you are nearly straight again. And, in turn, adjust the sound more accurately for such drops in speed.

I personally would love to see them tweak the ABS so drivers get penalized when they try to out brake you by stomping on the brakes. You should be rewarded for smooth braking and penalized by over-braking.

I for one, would like to see damage disappear completely. I'm tired of driving in rooms with heavy damage and my race gets hosed because someone else can't control their car. I shouldn't be penalized for someone else's mistakes. Yea yea, it's more realistic, blah blah blah, but if it was more realistic with professional drivers, the amount of collisions should drop significantly. And I've also heard it 'helps promote clean driving', which simply means you don't trust the drivers in your lobby. It needs to go, it will never reach a point where everyone is happy with it and because 90% of the drivers are learning the ropes, it just ruins it for the rest of us.

Some other general items:

Buy Engine, Oil Changes and Aero from Tuning menu when racing online.

I suggest increasing the online race countdown timer to 50, automatically pit every car on the track when the countdown timer reaches 10 to avoid loooong black screen waits

GT6 Leaderboard.

Add what PP cars were at for offline time trials (practice sessions).

Bring back the superior GT4 replay system that shows HP,Weight, tires, parts installed (etc.) and if Skid Force was enabled

Give me far more filters online racing lobby, like let me filter to just 500PP, just sports tires, just race cars, don't show me X track, etc.

Let me share my entire garage for one make races. However I tweak the car, is exactly what everyone else uses. Plus let them tweak their own suspension, aero settings individually

Let me change the view when watching a race online, instead of just the track camera sections, let's face it, all the tracks feel the same even though they are different

Thats all I can think of atm. 👍

Jerome, dude. You should copy n paste this in Earth's What do want to see in GT6 thread. Think up a few more ideas while you're at it.

Those are fantastic suggestions, Jerome, I only caution that there has to be room for tomfoolery and shenanigans someplace online, everything doesn't have to be serious. Maybe have screw off rooms set up, or that infraction system only applies in some rooms, host or otherwise.

Both these threads are eerily similar now, hmmm. I'll do that tho and see what else I can come up with. 👍

Biggest thing to make racing more exciting/interesting is to make sure they force players to think more about racing strategy and add more random challenging events during the races. This can be acheived for example the following points:

- Better implementation of the weather system (and real-time weather!) for all races, not just a few of them.
- Make more use of pit stops during all races (not only the longer ones)
- Better tyre system
- More intelligent a.i. that can drive agressive or tone down to save tyres/fuel for example, all depending on the situation
- Add damage and repair time in the pits
- Add failures (to a certain extent) (can be switched off)
- Add more endurance races
- Add accurate fuel tanks
- More driver mistakes and dangerous situations to cope with
- etc.

All these changes would make racing much more interesting and that would be a huge game-changer for me, because Gran Turismo always had that very sterile racing feeling to it and this would spice things up

This. The racing experience in this games needs to see some large improvements. This sounds like a great start! As it is in GT5, I felt like there was no real purpose to even to continue to advance and win more races short of just collecting cars. They need to evolve that system.

The #1 thing they need to add to make GT6 a good game.

A completely redone innovating GT Mode from scratch !!!!!

Whether it's a new way GT mode is made, a change to a career mode a lot of people have been discussing or a mixture of both. I don't care because the GT mode is a disappointment compared to GT 2, 3, and 4!

IGN.com said it best in their review:

"It's a 10 out of 10 sim in a 5 out of 10 game"

Please for the love of EXOTICS! Add Thee 2014 Koeniggsegg Agera R! Second, Love! Love! Love! More Detail in the cockpit! One of the best things to improve would be Full Seat Adjustment! That would also help raise the camera/sight out of the windshield. For me regardless of the three options, Wide, Zoom and Extra Zoom. The line of sight is to low. When I'm sitting in my real car , I can see a lot more in front of me (further down the road) because I'm taller. This would help tremendously. And Simulate more realism. Seriously! Next time your driving your car, visualize what can be seen and what should be seen in game. :) Thank you. PS You should check out what CodeMasters/Grid 2 is going threw right now because they eliminated the cockpit view entirely! WOW Big Mistake

👍 to the guys at IGN... because that's exactly what GT5 was...
