320GB Internal HDD(298GB) - PS3's HDD
250GB Internal HDD(223GB)
120GB Internal HDD(107GB)
80GB ipod(74GB)
320GB External HDD(298GB)
1TB External HDD(941GB)

That is 2090GB in advertised space and 1941GB formatted.
 
What's really impressive is LoudMusic had 2.18TB 4 years ago..... :D
 
And 4 years later I barely have 2tb.

And that windows Home Server is amazing. I just need to figure out how to get a win2k3 domain server running, and integrate WHS into it.

That's true, it was for the graphic's company he was (is?) working for, I still find it impressive though. It was on a X-server I believe.

3x 298 GB (1 system, 1 for daily backups, 1 for iTunes, and Uncompressed Audio Files: Cubase, Line6 raw files).
1x 465 (external backup)
1x 223 (compaq laptop)
1x 223 (Hp laptop)
1x 465 (backup for both laptops)
1x 465 (off site backup) - my brother's house
1x 38 (old IBM NetVista - used to test hardware only)

Total: 2.7 TB. (formatted)
Add flash drives, ipod's, iphone, Ps3 (80), and it keeps going up.

As a self employed Comp. tech., and musician / music teacher, the large storage is an absolute necessity.
It may seem excesive for 1 person, i must admit, but a 4 min guitar recording (.wav) can be over 100 MB before mixdown. And thats just one track.
And in my line of work Everything gets backed up, every day.

I don't think it's excessive! My music and photographs are backed up nightly to a pair of Samba servers in the garage (one 300GB, one 750GB) and also offsite to Mozy. The only thing I'm not backing up is my laptop, but it doesn't really have any data on it anyway.
 
In this thread we compare how much each hard drive(Including SSD's) storage each user has. I'll be keeping a leaderboard in this post and keep it updated at least once a week.

Storage devices that are not included in the count:
  • Phones
  • Tablets
  • SD cards
  • Memory Cards
  • Flash Drives

Storage Devices that are included in the count:
  • Hard Drives
  • Solid State Drives

Anything that has a working hard drive(If you know how much it is) such as a DVR, server, portable HDD storage or console is also eligible to be included in the list. You can count other family members computers and external HDD's in your list if they live in the same house.

Hm... okay:

160 GB in my laptop
10 GB M2-memory cards (1x2GB and 1x8GB)
16 GB USB-flashdrive-thing.
1 GB phone memory
and 320 GB in my PlayStation;

507 GB for me.

Edit: 480 GB, with memory cards excluded :p.

Dean & sharky reread my post. No memory cards, phones, or flash drives included in the count. I've edited my post to make it more readable.
 
My PC, 64GB SSD, 320GB HD, 500GB HD

Kitchen PC, 180GB

Vic's PC 500GB

Laptops are both 320GB

I have a NAS but I don't know if that counts, if it does does it count as 4TB or 2TB mirrored?

Then I have unknown amounts of old drives lying around but I guess they don't count.

Do tablets count? They don't add much though.

So counting the NAS as the full 4TB is 6300, counting it as only 2TB is 4252, and not counting it at all is 2204.

Forgot about the xBox. If that counts add 250GB.
 
Old hard drives can be counted, NAS counts(It does not matter if it's in a RAID 1 config. Post the full storage of the hard drives), and tablets don't count. Pretty much anything that has a working hard drive counts.

I won't be on the list for long but 750 GB for my laptop, 100 GB for the home comp, and another 640 GB for another laptop in the house, 100GB and 30 GB for 2 unused laptops burried in a closet and a 500 GB Western Digital portable hard drive.

Maybe because here in the US we got a TV show called Storage Wars(Hence where I got the name for the thread title) that buy a storage garage full of stuff and then sells used stuff at their retail price(That's the impression I get when my father told me the real prices for some welding equipment was on one episode). The purpose is to sell the items to get a profit over the cost of bidding for a storage garage.

You know what I meant, I don't usually call them tebibytes because more often than not someone goes "I think you meant 'terabytes'!"

But yeah, I was trying to work it out in my brain and that doesn't do arithmetic well at all so you're most likely right.
 
I have a Synology NAS box with four 2TB drives in a RAID 5 setup. Would that count as 6TB or 8TB?

Similarly I have another with a pair of 2TB drives in a RAID 1. Two or four TB?
