Biggest "I'm an idiot" thing you've done in GT5

Fully modded a ZR1 for Bob for the lvl23 b-spec america events, only to find it was too slow and I had to convert it to RM which gets rid of all the modifications.

Something that is typical 'me':

I accidently entered a championship by clicking on the first race instead of on the championship logo.
I noticed this and thought to myself: When it's loaded I need to exit and start over.
Somewhere in the 40 second load time, I completely forgot about this :dopey:. Had an exciting and difficult race, which I won, only to return to find the 'next race' button missing afterwards. Then it all came back to me. :banghead:

I hope this has nothing to do with your location and certain plants which grow there ...

My biggest Idiot-moment was like 10mins ago. I tried to backup and restore my Gamesave and just found out I deleted the wrong GT5 folder. I need to install the whole game again and the patches and whatever ... 👍

bought a '70 challenger fully tuned it, bought a '71 charger, bought a '71 charger super bee fully tuned it, bought a chevy camaro ss, bought a chevelle ss, bought a mustang mach 1 and some more... because they look pretty :) and i only ever use one of them...

I have a bad tendency of e-braking into the finish line. Thinking I was on the final lap I did my routine. To my shock the Chapperel passed me and I let out a yell, Nooooooo!!! I could not catch it on the final lap. I felt like moron. I was in first the whole time before that. My wife laughed, and validated my feelings as she called me a jackass...:grumpy:

Haha, I've done this a couple of times before aswell. I hate it when it happens :grumpy:

I was doing the Formula Gran Turismo Series, and had all golds leading up to the Suzuka Circuit. I thought I had my championship sealed; so I exited out of the championship and got nothing from it, not even the gold trophy and the 550,000 championship game credits.
I went back and got all golds again without the help of the Suzuka Track, and Success.

Paused the game on lap 49 out of 60. Answered the phone, finished talking, and somehow hit restart instead of continue. Shorty after that I said the F-word, and turned off the PS3.

Bought a car or two in the six figure range that I won shortly thereafter.

Other then that nothing Earth shattering.

Buying a 1,000,000 Cr. car just to hate it and "Sell" it and find out that I get absolutely nothing for it and have the game Auto save that action so it could be rubbed in my face that I lost both a car I could use for something else and 1 million really quick.

Of course this is a "Kaz is an idiot moment" Not me.

buying a honda crv the alpha eco one anyway for the polyphony thing and then i accidently bought the spoon car and then i realised so i bought the proper one and then i did lightweight stage one and then i was like **** went back to the thing and my car was underweight i was like well annoyed :P

Not quite in the same league as some that have already been posted, but I had half a dozen attempts at the GTR seasonal race and gave up. Then I put Bob in the car and did some B-spec races. Went back for the GTR race today, and it was over the HP limit - it had gone from 492 to 498 in the time that Bob was driving. No problem, replace the racing air filter with the sports one - 493HP - sweet. Still cant get within 7sec of the Ford GT running constant 1.30 laps.
THEN I realised that the GTR stock weight is nearly 600kg over the min weight. Put it on a diet and presto, win at the first attempt with pretty comfortable 1.27 laps.

That is my biggest "idiot" moment SO FAR. I'm sure there will be more.

credit farming (before the 1.05 update) for a whole week to get 12500000 for F2007. Only to found out it can't be use in A-spec or B-spec after I get in the car.

Freaking racing historic championship in bspec and got too immersed in the forums here and Bob fell asleep and lost by 0.477 seconds.... dammit bob....

After many uses of farming the "L.T.W." event with the Minolta I decided to try it for the All Stars championship. I could not for the life of me drive it. Thinking it was the setup I tried one from the forums here. Still no joy.

I decided then to try my backup plan which was the Stealth 787B, same story. Couldn't drive it worth a crap. Eventually I thought I'd take the both of them back to the LTW settings and gain more money to buy something else. But then the setups I had used previosuly didn't work... they ploughed into the wall at 230+.

Im thinking "Has PD pushed a silent patch out?" "Is this a glitch?". So just there now I decided to make an open lobby for myself to test both cars with ease. Which, to my ultimate horror but also fits for insane laughter I found that PD defaults the tires to "Sports Hard" when you enter the All Star events. :(

Threw the racing ones on and boom, flatout round Indy once again. And now (with racing tires!) I am dominating the All Star event.

My name is Thomas. And I am a GT5 Idiot.

Dumbest thing I have done:

Received my lvl9 ticket or whatever level it was for being all 9 championships. Not knowing they give me a random car. I spent a couple hours messing around in the car dealership handpicking the lvl9 car I thought would be best. Clicked the ticket and was given some big pile of **** car lmao.. learned a tough lesson that day haha

oil change on the Kusabi, ineligible for seasonal race

Regarding this, you know in that time trial you can use Sports Medium tyres, right? Well, I tried to beat my (old) record of 0'58.100... with Comfort tyres... for three hours!!!

All I could do is 1'01.something and I was reaaaally frustrated, trying to find the right tune.

The following day, after 200km, I realized my mistake :) Now I'm 31th on the event, thank God.

1. Buying cars that i already own and bought modifications for
2. Wasting hours trying to win races but being unable to because i forgot to check the tire req's.
3. Letting Bob break in my GTR then changing the oil which put over the the hp req's for the seasonal GTR race
