Bought an Alfa Brera for the GT Rally(Beginner) event and tuned everything apart from the horsepower only to find out that it had 2 BHP more that what was permitted...
2 BHP costed me more than 30.000 credits I believe

I was on the very last race of the NASCAR Championship and was 1st place on the 8th Lap... a car was trying to overtake me and i went to block...

Biggest GT5 mistake (apart from racing in a 458 (tuned up to the balls) in comfort tyres and wonder why I can't keep up with a F430)...

I ended up spinning into the pit lane and after all that finishing 12th and a lap behind...

On the plus side I still came top of the championship :)

That happened to me, I got pit maneuvered on the last lap, after getting it on the Laguna race before. I managed to still win by 15 points. I did the Laguna one again and won in 1 shot, Daytona took me like 30 tries, i just kept getting pit maneuvered by the competition. Not a hard race just tremendously frustrating, especially because the few times I caught back up and tried to give them payback I couldn't get the AI drivers to spin for the life of me!

On the Nurburgring 24h track, I keep forgetting there's a lefthand turn directly after the first hairpin, instead of a bit further as on the normal Nurburgring track. Result; I consistently drove my car into a barrier, lap after lap :9

I can avoid it now, but I have to keep reminding myself.

Hehe, I just did that yesterday... "WTF? Where'd the track go ^^;"

It took me until last night to realize you don't have to buy the Turbo Upgrades in 'stages' like the Engine Tune. All this time I've been buying all 3 turbo stages for nothing :(

I gave up on the Sebastian Loeb challenge before ever completing the course, because I just couldn't catch the ghost car ahead of me. A few days later, I learn on the forums that you aren't supposed to catch the ghost car... I promptly went and finished the courses easily in gold, ignoring the ghost car ahead of me :D

You´re not alone, my friend...

4 hours Tsukuba, A-Spec. 3 hours in I had to go drop the Mrs and her friend somewhere. Came back 30 mins later and found I hadn't paused the game and was 12 laps down with 30mins to go. Managed to take back 8 laps but in the end I finished 4 laps short.

Oh well give it another go next weekend.

Yeah I noticed how they manage to pit you, nudge you, spin you, have you going down the track backwards at 200mph yet they always seem to carry merrily on their way. I wouldn't mind losing so much if there was proper carnage, if they spin/crash too instead of being seemingly indestructible.

Tried to enter the American championship in my toyota Nascar. D'oh!

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Got a nascar for its event and for the american event. My girlfriend said I should buy the nascar with the m&ms on it. Oops, that's japanese. Oh well, 500k down the drain. And I can't even sell it.:grumpy:

The first corner in the Indianapolis. I just can't get the first corner right that often. I keep hitting the inside tire barrier.

i bought a Challenger , then they gave me 1 , i bought C63 AMG and they gave me 2 !!!! and that was in the beginning of my GT life lol

Mine is pretty bad;

I was on the last race of the FGT championship in A-SPEC, and i was leading the tournament by 225 points. So i quit the last race (Suzuka rain), but didnt start the race before hand. So i abandoned the championship. FML.

Now i have to do the whole thing over again.

It doesn't directly involve me, but I just witnessed the most idiotic moment in my time of playing GT5.

Here's the situation:
Online
Indianapolis Oval - 4 laps
Me - Toyota GT-One
Some random - Minolta
On each straight, I would zig zag back and forth, trying to minimize any draft he was getting. Coming off 4 taking the white, I did my usual routine. I went low, trying to break the draft. Then, I saw this big object commonly known as a pit wall sticking out. Temptation took control. I placed my car directly in its path and moved up at the last instant.

Figure the rest out.

I forgot to turn off the automatic shutoff setting on the PS3 before I entered a 9 hour endurance race. Hour 7.5, the PS3 shutoff.

You know you can take parts back off right? Or are you saying you just bought it, then tuned it to your liking, then when it came time to start too many ponies? That is a FML, tuning can take some time. :ouch:

For me it was the 4 hour roadster race. When i played for 3 hours and 45 minutes, i needed to get my daugther out of bed. Normally i dont play when my daughter is awake cause she needs loads of attention. But i figured that 15 minutes wouldnt be a problem. So after 230+laps and just 1 - 2 minutes to go my daughter started hitting me for some attention. So i paused and gave her some attention but started hitting me and the controller right after it. So after i spended another 20 minutes giving my daughter loads of attention she was playing on her own, and i figured to play the last minute through. So i picked up the controller and pressed x. As soon as i pressed x i noticed the controller jumped from continue to reset.

Epic fail!!! Now i allways check if its on continue instead of reset.

2nd fail is something completely different.
I spended one million credits for the ferrari enzo, and tuned it for another 200-300k.
To find out it handles like complete ****. Dont like ferrari, so i gave it to a friend......

buying a R35 V-spec for the seasonal race, oil changing, face palming at having put it over the limit, selling car, buying another and then proceeding to do exactly the same thing again.

I am still mad at my idiocity,

It was at the X1 Vettel Challenge, after getting Bronze in all, I went to make Nürburgring Gold. It took 2hrs until I made like 5 consecutive fast laps, coming as close to gold as 0.4s. I was like "Woah, now you gonna make it". And acutally the next try was my best 1st lap (being 1:04.090) and in my 2nd lap I was like 1s faster in 2nd Sector.

Problem is, I was so excited that I forgot to steer on the straight with a large corner radius before the chicane. I ended up on the gras and if my wheelstand wouldn't be so heavy it would have ended in my TV :dunce:

Lambo Gallardo event, on the last corner (1st place) understeer straight into the barrier.

Or for a silver on Nurburg special event, on course, last turn.... spin out.

I was winning a race on the top gear test track and got careless. I turned the wrong way.

Not as dumb as some of you guys, no offense.

i just had the same thing last night with the R35 V-spec
tuned it to 499HP (limit is 500)
and thought oh i can make an oil change
bad idea now it is 525 and have to buy a new one and do it all over again
(not the oilchange)
