Seriously, The issues about tracks, cars, premium-standard, poor top gear events, overwhelming NASCAR, lack of F1 cars, lack of use with the F1 cars available all falls down to licensing issue and which rich company has the most ammount of money to say "Here PD, I am paying you 6 million dollars to make my car, the Toyota Prius, a Premium car in your new game."
As for the lack of events you can blame the pressure form The fans and sony for that one. Had they not have complained, had we waited 2 more years that Kaz wanted, we would have more events, with the possibilty of more cars, and more time on PD's hands to produce the DLC. But with and Incomplete game, PD are trying to make it just that little bit closer to completion therefore, they havent got time to do the DLC, plus, just remember, Japan got hit with that earthquake/tsunami/nuclear reactor meltdown so give them a break.

As far as A-spec races, I'm sure they probably thought Online was going to make up for the differences in A-Spec races from previous titles.

As I said, this game was more or less based around the online functionality.

Making the special events available only online is stupid too. Several of my favorite races are not available when psn or simply my connection is down.

You mean seasonal events? How else will they make specific types of series?
Plus the Course Maker created tracks they add for each series every week.

BINGO! DING DING DING DING! DING!
Seriously, this thread is completely irrational. It's like a damn diary of shoulda coulda wouldas.

- The fact that even if you've leveled up enough and got plenty of cash, you can't buy the car you want because it's lost in the random UCD. And you've got to check the SLOW loading UCD menu every 5 races to make sure it doesn't pass you by YET AGAIN!

- The paint chip system is absolutely ridiculous. If I go to the paint shop and they tell me I can only paint my car in a colour I've had a car previously or some colours I've randomly recieved in the national paint lottery, I'd tell them I'm goint to a different paint shop.

As with just about every other PD flaming thread. Seriously, its pointless. Yes they could have done everything, fixed everything, but they havent. Get over it.

You guys bought the game. If you dont like, Trade your PS3 and GT5 in for Xbox and forza and pay for your online access. If you are not going to do that, quit ya whinging, be happy you have what you have and be done with it. Just think, how many poor children out there Just want to be near a PS3 console let alone play the game. How many kids out there have dreamed about being real race cars but cant because they are paralyzed from the hip down. They are stuck to the games. Im sure they arent complaining about "Why's the veyron a standard" or "Why isnt this game finished?".

So why should you guys?

I agree that some things are pointless to whinge about, but there really are some simple changes PD could make that would make the game a lot more enjoyable. If we're not allowed to discuss this, then what point is a discussion forum really?

First, don't say it's a matter of money when PD had $60 million to develop the damn thing. Why needing 6M for a lame toyota if the Prologue version of the game (essentially an enormous and lovely demo of GT5) already payed out this cost? How much does a license cost? 1M?

Second, don't blame it on us and don't even mention two more years of waiting. Seriously, five years were enough time for us to wait and they to develop. Better games have been made in less time. PD just didn't used their time properly, namely with an average selling port of GT4 for the PSP. Besides Duke Nukem forever, which modern videogame has taken 5 or an hypothetical 7 years????? So, they need almost a decade to make a complete game? For a change, try listening the community. It makes dev times shorter and gives people the game they want which equals more sales. Also, think about the time left on the PS3 before a sucesor. Waiting two years more could mean GT6 won't be ready for the PS3.

Sorry , but I just had to say it.

"Think about the children!"
Umm... What?

Apart from that i think it is justified to point out the flaws in the game though some pointed out here are based purely on personal opinion and aren't really that bizarre once you know that there are people out there that like different things. I myself think the game is ok, though it could have been a lot better considering the development time and resources PD had. Feels like there were some problems with the production...

Yes, cause listening to a community which 70% of was saying hurry up and release it was going to work. And no, Im not blaming everyone. Just the ones that sit and whinge about a game not coming out fast enough then whinge and complain some more when the game isnt complete because of time restraints. Yes, I believe PD could have pulled it off but considering they were working on the virtual reveal of the GTR, The GTR computer graphics, A few games here and there between GT4 and GT5, the partner ship between Toyota and Subaru for the FT-86 and the G-Sports. Not to mention how overly comlex and perfect Kaz wanted this game, You cant tell me that with all the going on, with roughly 110 employees, that they could have pulled it off in the time that majority of people wanted.

Sorry, but I just had to say it.

Yes, ok, I was going off on a bit of a whim here more or less trying to get at the fact that different people, depending on how they view different things prefer other different things, thus the whole "Think of the children and the less fortunate" aspect.

Its more the fact that people are expecting so much like DLC, Updates, this that and the other when they really need to think about whats going on in the bigger picture.

Bottom-line. 👍

Constant complaints aren't good constructive criticism. This is just plain ignorance. How do any of us know how much it takes to make a GT game? 100% of you don't know what's been going on at PD headquarters for the past 7 years, the work and dedication. There are so many factors that must be accounted for. Input is great. But not so much when you're bashing the work of an amazing team and a great leader. Unless, you know what it takes to even be a part of PD, stop thinking you're entitled to have what's missing.

It's as if everybody thinks they didn't try. THAT makes no sense. Completely ignorant.

Dont' see the point of the thread. All these issues have been reported many times all around this Forum. I'm sure PD knows all of this. They do have quality control.

Isn't this just a thinly-veiled complaint thread?

1/ Caterham -> premium car
2/ online racing management is missing
3/ pit-stop (manual driving, onboard camera)
4/ more real tracks

I would like to see some key standard cars in premium database. Oline club and league racing management is a bit difficult under present environment (no quali format, no practice format, quali + race simple output data sheets). I would like to see manual pit-stop driving incl. the chance to stay in my car (onboard camera). More real tracks.

Bad desicions? Here's a few I can think of...

Having weather on Suzuka, but not on Suzuka East, Why? And where's Suzuka West? Same with The Ring, we only get full weather on the 24 hour cicuit, why? We get full weather on The Nordschliefe in Practice, but not online, why?

In Practice, the "Change Weather" tracks can't have their weather changed, why? I'd love to set the weather up how I want & go for a drive, I can when online so I don't see why PD don't let me in Practice!

Why the lack of cohesion in replay modes? In Arcade & Single Make races you can toggle the HUD on/off with the square like in previous games, but when watching online replays there's a whole different & more user unfriendly system, why? This game lacks cohesion in so many other areas too.

Getting rid of the A, B & C set ups when they should've implemented unlimited set ups for tunes.

Having a the Car Delivery thing that wastes you time with all cars you win in the most inane & pointless manner: "Are you sure you want to use this item?" "Do you want to use this car now?" JUST PUT IT IN MY GARAGE ALREADY, GRRR!

There's 101 other fails but I can't be bothered to type anymore.

VBR
And where's Suzuka West?
If you check the closed pit area for the Suzuka West section (to the right, just after the Spoon curve) , it looks like it's for motorcycles only. This is probably why it hasn't been included in GT5 although the layout is there. At least, that is my idea.

I would like PD to tell us what they are doing for the next update, instead of us getting excited for the next update, where it just closes a gap at the Nürburgring.

This. Patience is the key to PD and their fans. If that overwhelms, they'll be forced to release the game, incomplete. I wouldn't mind waiting for 2 more years to have a complete game instead of an incomplete one. Besides, there's plenty of games out there to keep me busy 'till then.

They kind of used to do that for a split second. But then this thread is proof why they shouldn't. We don't know how PD works.

- time accelerations on "time-of-day" / "weather" tracks
- lack of settings for "weather" / "time-of-day" offline
- menu logic (i.e. quit seasonal race puts you back to main menu)
- one make races instead of random opponents
- online lobby selections (no filter for random cars races)
- not remembering settings (my lobby)
- rubberbanding
- no qualifying
- no split times (car ahead)
- not displaying fastest laps in race results
- car wash nonsense
- boring AI programming (1 car always goes fast, the rest always sleeps)
- AI starts braking way too soon
- cockpit view (can't see the track)
- camera angles (GT4 was way better)
- no option for collisions on/off (online)
- exaggerated slipstreaming
- "fastest car starts last" setting nonsense
- 20 million price tag for a single car (you could buy a used Boeing 737 for this)
- no save options on endurance races and championships
....

... 154 more...

My god...some people really are happy eating crap!! The whole rational world KNOWS GT5 didn't hit the heights it should have. If some of you apologists can actually come up with good reasons why some of the things I mentioned in my post were done then do so. Stop the petty excusing of the game. The game is FLAWED and has such major physics flaws that make be doubt it's credibility as a sim. Go on explain brake bias...why is it so crap in the game, how can I lock up the rear in a car WITH NO REAR BRAKE POWER!! Why can't the game give me a proper reverse, why do race cars have the same steering ratio as road cars...all HUGE flaws and easily fixed.

Not to mention the god awful Ai, which was actually not to bad before the one patch...but PD change it and made it WORSE. It's easier to overtake the Ai on the outside of the corner now....in NO FORM OF REAL RACING is that true.

I'm sick of the apologists, this game will NEVER get properly sorted out with that sort of accepting attitude. And I'm sick of the PATHETIC "go get an Xbox and Forza" reply....OMG "my dads bigger than yours", "yo momma", "my dicks bigger than yours" are all in the same vein. I HAVE an Xbox, I HAVE Forza....I already play it loads...I ALSO WANT TO PLAY GT5.

actually the biggest fail isn't PDs or even Sony's....it's the blind acceptance of the fans. That guarantees GTs slippage into mediocrity.

I'm off to take a chill pill before I go mad conversing with the apologists......wibble.

The pitting is awful. When getting fuel on the x2010 they pour fuel even though that car doesn't have a visible fuel tank.

I don't see a veil at all.

This is the second thread of yours like this we've locked, Yev. Please don't make any more.
