Black screen

So today I was racing in an online room and a minute or two after the race started my screen just went black and there was no sound. I quickly checked if my PS3 turned off but it didn't and a few seconds later after the black screen ended it brought me back to the XMB menu as if I restarted the PS3.
Luckily I didn't lose my save game.

Did anybody else have this problem before?

OP it happens a lot online normally when there are quite a few scattered all round the track when the race start button is hit, If it does it a lot get the host to call all competitors back to the pits and then start race, that will cure it.

I've found that if the host never leaves the pit, the black screen rarely happens.

Thanks guys for the replies. I guess it probably was the cars scattered like Mark said or the host.

I think blackscreens are just totally random, rarely ever happens nowadays (as compared to pre 2.0 when racing at Daytona). Having a room with over 13 people that are all driving around the track does leave a greater risk for a blackscreen but they still are pretty rare.

If you are running a slow connection or the host is running slow connection your black screen will happen. O am in the process of getting a faster connection now.
