Hey guys this is my 2011 Mustang 5.0 I've had it for nearly a year now and I love it!

Ford has had available DOHC V8s in Mustangs since 1996 and had them in other vehicles (Lincoln Mark VIII I'm looking at you) since 1993.

GM and Chrysler have on their not-a-V8s.

Dennisch: they have had dohc motors for a long time. Take a look at the 03/04 cobra motor if you want to have your mind blown.

Mine has 3.55s

Also forgot to mention in the first post, when I installed the suspension I also got a Hushpower axle-back exhaust system.

How do you like it that setup? I am thinking about getting a different axle-back for my 06, I was considering the pypes muffler delete axle back. I was also going to put on a set of koni yellow adjustables.

I have the FRPP 4.10s, I'd highly recommend them. Are you on s197forum?

I like it, the gearing is nice for when you want to go fast but also does a good job on fuel economy for the engine size and the power it's putting out. Basically a nice balance for a weekend driver. I'm on TheMustangSource. Is your's stock right now?

The DOHC cars were, for the most part, demand limited rather than intentionally limited production.

In fact, since 1996, the only years missing a DOHC model were 2002, 2005, and 2006.

Then again it can easily be said 2000 didn't really have a DOHC car either, there were only 300 Cobra Rs built.

So I was doing some "spirited" driving earlier today and it seems it has it's very own shift light. I hadn't reached redline since i've owned it because as of now it only has 4700 miles on it. But as just as I went to shift the RPM gauge turned completely red. I tried it again and sure enough just before redline the gauge goes red. Pretty cool. 👍

I meant more of a correction of Dennisch's ignorant US taking a plunge into the future comment. Read carefully. Ford does not embody the entire 'US' in his comment either.

I'm jelly. I wanted to get a Mustang but the one I wanted was more than I could afford with insurance, car payments and whatnot. My car buying timing was a little messed up, but maybe soon I can get my Stang...even if it's a few years old.

There is nothing ignorant about my comment. The US has always been a bit weary with multi-cam engines.

The #8 cylinder failures are attributed to tunes people got that turned off the knock sensors. Everyone that had that issue had their cars tuned. So that issue is pretty much gone, and an issue that is not the cars fault. The transmission subject is very hazy. Most complaints are the 1-2 shift that is quite notchy. Some are more serious but at least on the forum I visit the thread discussing has gone to 🤬 so im not sure. I myself experienced the notchiness but this shifter you cant cram into gear. You literally just use your fingers and it slides into gear like a glove. I dont know, I have no issues with it and love it.

The wheels I was talking about in an earlier post is a go. So should get those in a couple weeks. Than later down the road a supercharger is seriously in mind.

19" wheels and 275/40/19 are the tires.

And I had it tinted today. It's too dark out to take pictures so i'll probably just post pictures once the wheels and tires are installed.

Here's a picture of them installed although a horrible phone picture. I'll get better ones from an actual camera later.

Photo doesn't do it justice. The tires fill out the wheel wells nicely now. I love the look of the wheels. Looks more aggressive. Also I notice a huge improvement in grip, great tires. 👍
