Is this going to spawn another thread with 2 lists that GTP members agree on?

Oh, and Vanilla Ice shouldn't be on that list...

...they weren't 'artists'.

50 Worst Artists of All Time
3. Michael Bolton
4. Kenny G
No argument there.

18. Pat Boone
Too easy a target. It's not as if Blender's target audience would consider trying to listen to Pat's music, anyhow.

22. Primus
31. Arrested Development
35. Paul Oakenfold
37. The Doors
Here's where they missed the boat: Primus actaully makes weird, but original-sounding music. Heck, they made a song in 11-7ths time once. Try that. Arrested Development tried to break the rap mold of its time, but was 2-3 years too late, since everything turned "gangsta" in 1992. Oakenfold's a DJ; Blender doesn't review anything like his music.

Jim Morrison might have been a tripped-out, drunken nutcase, but calling The Doors one the worst bands is quite an egregious error; do the meanings of songs from Britney Spears have anything resembling deep meaning? Any improvisation by them performing a live act? I don't think so.

50 Worst Songs of All Time
44. I'll Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) - Meat Loaf (1993)
Well, there's some credibility to this list; if there is a hell, this is the song that's played in the lobby.

smellysocks12
By the way, GG Allin is worse than any of those artists above combined. If you don't believe it go download any of his songs.
There's only room for one Frank Zappa in this world. And I think I need a shower after looking at those two pics. White trash, indeed.

Whitesnake had Steve Vai. 'Nuff said.
Oops, almost forgot that. Any band with Steve Vai automatically gets credibility.

But then, they placed Yngwie Malmsteen on the list of worst artists. 'Nuff said.

50 Worst Songs of All Time

4. Rollin' - Limp Bizkit (2000)
22. Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)- Toby Keith (2002)

50 Worst Artists of All Time
23. Creed
41. Whitesnake

Those are definatly wrong in my eyes. The Angry American is the only country song I can stand to listen to because of what it says. Rollin' is a great song. Creeds album Human Clay is a very good CD. I only know one Whitesnake song but I don't think deserve to be on that list.

Toby Keith: Perpetuating American (read: Texan) stereotypes to the world. Not good.

Rollin': First time I heard it, I branded it as the worst song I had ever heard. Then I saw the video. Suddenly "worst song of all time" was not low enough. To this day, nothing has stolen that title. Not even Wes Borland had a chance in hell of saving it from Fred.

However, everyone is entitled to like whatever they want.

This is actually one of the better "worst" lists I've seen in a while. I disagree with a few things (Malmsteen, Primus, the Doors? come on!), but all in all, they hit the nail pretty much on the head. Most "worst of all time" lists mention only songs from the past 5 years or so, or are biased against one genre. This one seems pretty well-rounded.

These songs/artists should NOT be in this list according to me.

50 Worst Songs of All Time

19. Broken Wings - Mr. Mister (1985)
20. Dancing on the Ceiling - Lionel Richie (1986)
31. Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm - Crash Test Dummies (1994) (If it is the 'humming' song i'm thinking of)
41. We Didn't Start the Fire - Billy Joel (1989)
42. The Sounds of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel (1965) (are they crazy???)

50 Worst Artists of All Time

Michael Bolton

Celine Dion

Go easy on him, folks. Don't hurt him.

Anybody who wants a piece of Mustang-man must go through me first! I agreed with Mustang-man's entire post(OK, Bette Midler thing is iffy), but would never have had enough guts to admit it.................. oh crap! :(

I'd bet my life savings that Madonna would be in their top 10 artists of all time list. I'd also go double or nothing on wether or not any classical composers would be in the top 5.

*EDIT* Well, they don't have a greatest artists list, but they do have a 500 greatest songs since 1980 list. I have a gut feeling there are at least 9 songs better than In Da Club made in the last 25 years... and Hit Me Baby One More Time is certainly not one of them.

Prepare to laugh your butts off yet again...

By the way, despite getting a deserved spot on Blender's worst artists list, George Michael has a song at #141 on their best songs list. Way to contradict yourselves Blender...

Yeah i'm a bit iffy on the Bette Midler choice too, but i sort of like a couple of her songs. I think.

ELP at #2? Please. This makes Rolling Stone look credible...

Cant agree with you... Sorry...

Ice Ice Baby from Vanilla Ice is a classic... Old school baby... ICE ICE BABY !!!

Primus ??? He's the best bassist ever and his songs are hot...

Creed ??? Are you ****ing kidding me... One of the best alternative band ever...

Paul Oakenfold ??? Not the best dj, but he had some great mixes...

The Doors ???????????? WTF... Its a classic, like Black Sabbath, Kiss, Van Halen... Not the same music style, but still a classic and a legend... Riders On The Storm ??? ITS THE DOORS ! !!!

50 Worst Songs of All Time
41. We Didn't Start the Fire - Billy Joel (1989)
This is quite possibly the single worst song ever written. Each new Billy Joel song released is more stupid and more annoying than the last. I keep thinking he can't possibly do anything worse, but somehow he always manages.

Zardoz
That's one nasty-ass little site. My blockers stopped six popups, and Norton blocked four cookie-placing attempts.

After all that, I was staring at an ad, and nothing else. Great link...

Oh man I didn't know it was that bad.

I've got AdBlock and noscript installed. Let me find another site.

Edit: Damn it, anyone know any good hosting site

Well I couldn't disagree more with the picks for #47 & #48 for the worst artists...but that's your opinion, and I repect that. But I do believe you're missing a key person in the top 50 most incredibly uber-horrendous artists of all time-Michael Jackson.

*vomits at the very thought of this name*

Race Idiot
This is what creed sound like to people who have some taste in music.

They are just an incredibly ****e rip off of Pearl Jam/Alice in chains/Popular grunge band here, with religion tacked on.

OH AND WHY IS SKINNY PUPPY ON THAT LIST

well thats your opinion homeboy :)

I think Creed was one of the best. When they came over I didnt liked them, but I've listened over and over and bought ever albums of them... I personally think they changed over the alternative scene. :)

Duke

Yeah I think Billy Joel's good, too. :D

But seriously, you would have to be the world's number one anti-Billy Joelist. You have some serious problems with his music that I think an off-button would fix. :p

Oh, the off-button works great - when I have access to it. But that doesn't work for piped in music at the grocery store, or in the mall, etc.
