I have been grinding the seasonals with an Audi RS8 Avant and the oil is filthy. Is it possible to blow the engine if you don't change it?

No, but you will lose power.

Thanks for the prompt answer. That's kind of disappointing, I like loud bangs.

It's actually impossible to destroy a car in GT5. Which sucks, honestly. I'd love to shove the more annoying AI opponents into a wall and watch their car blow up.

GT doesn't even have a provision in place for DNF's in a race; this means that every car will finish every race, eventually. With damage on, you can smash up the car to the point that it is nearly undriveable, but it will still move. Same goes for running out of gas - the car slows to 30 miles/hour and runs there until you get back around to the pits.

My cars slow to 50 usually when I run out of gas. And getting damaged during a race sucks. I was doing online NASCAR at daytona and got wrecked. Had to go 70something mph for 7 laps :grumpy:

PD should definitely incorporate different mechanical issues in future GT games. More so in endurance races since failures/damages/accidents are a huge part of endurance races (along with flags/course caution stuff) and would add another layer of immersion. Though i can't really see it happening.

At the very least, you should have tire failure. Tire failure is huge at le mans because of the sharp gravel.

^ I would love to have the ability to blow out tires. It would make the entire game more realistic. very rarely do you blow a motor under normal race conditions if you know how to drive, but i would like to see a complete destruction type damage set on GT
