Blu-Ray = Betamax? Maybe not...

Sony asked people to reach for the top shelf with Betamax, but Sony didn't really play its cards right.

If Apple can get millions to buy $300 Ipods while dozens of cheaper MP3 players lurked about, I don't see why Sony can't sell high-quality Blu-Ray discs in the midst of lower-quality next-gen discs.

I second this, i think that consumers are looking to purchase quality, and will spend that extra cash for someting better than whats available. Like said Apple have sold millions of I-Pods due to them being a good all round package. If Sony and BR-Group do the job well, then im betting my bottom dollor they sell 10 to 1 over HD-DVD. Just as long as The quality is worth the cash, and eventually you will be able to get players that play both formats anyway so im not too worried. Just got to go buy a HD TV!!
