SCPH1000-
Hi all I'm on the 6th race of the last stage of the mission challenges, I cannot describe the frustration I'm having with this , over 35 attempts and either I don't put enough fuel in for the last stint, or I get taken out again and again by the very same blue WRX car which somehow seems to go 30mph faster than any other car after it refuels (ok , bit of an exaggeration but...). I've tried seven different cars to win this and I always fail to win. So, what's the trick with this one?, anyone know?, anyone done it first time or did it take forever?, Any help would be very much appreciated

I did this on my second try:

8 - 6
  • Subaru GR.3
  • Fiel map 1
  • Softs Front, Medium Back
  • Pit on lap 12
  • Change to Softs front and back
  • Put 8.4 Fuel (if you put 8.8, the Subaru might catch you and you won't pass him)
  • Come out in front with +1sec advantage
  • By the time you're on the last lap, with around a 3.5 sec gap, change to fuel map 4 and coast to the finish line.

I did this and finished with a +2sec gap.

PS: don't break for the last corner. Just lift the throttle and shift to 5th gear.

I did it today with a controller after several (12+) attempts with a wheel.

Here's what I did:
- WRX Gr3
- RS front + RM rear
- Manual Gear, TCS 1, ASM Weak, ABS On

- Pit end lap 9, RM tires, full gas
- Ideally <2,5s behind leader when pitting
- You should be at least 4th
- You should be first after lap 12

- Turn 1, brake 100m, 120-130 mph depending tire wear
- Turn 3, release gas at last meter sign, 5th gear, full gas when 154-160 mph
- You may need to block passes on last 2 laps
- AI may bomb you from behind on turn 1 on last 2 laps

I did it on 2nd try with this method...

WRX

Start on racing softs, fuel setting to full power for the whole race.

Pit at end of lap 9 not 10. Switch to racing mediums and fill the tank.

Was then able to draft the WRX and overtake then 3 minutes of occasionally politely blocking him, nerve racking but doable :)

Ran the wrx, tc 1, abs weak rs tyres. Pit on lap 10 and exit the pits when you have 11.2 litres of fuel. Rs tyres for the stop too. Finished 3 secs over the rest of the field.

I understand your frustration as I have been trying this mission for LITERALLY A WEEK and I have finally found the solution and I just got gold. You need the VW Beetle Gr3 Car, and use racing hard tires front and back. Start with fuel map 6 for the first 10 laps. Once you hit lap 10 you will have enough fuel to switch to fuel map 1. Now here is the kicker - YOU HAVE TO USE MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND NEVER PIT. I REPEAT: MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND NEVER PIT. Short shift and don’t let those RPM’s get too high. You will have to keep the WRX behind you with precision driving at the end but it’s very doable.

  • WRX GR 3
  • Start on RACING SOFT TIRES
  • Fuel Mapping on Power the ENTIRE TIME
  • Get to 6th pos by LAP 4, and 4th pos by LAP 6! (should be rolling with the lead pack by lap 9, 1st place is possible at this time!)
  • PIT ON LAP 9 before LAP 10!
  • Switch to RACING MEDIUM TIRES
  • FILL UP COMPLETELY ON FUEL
  • You should come out RIGHT BEHIND/WITH THE BACK of the PACK!
  • SLIPSTREAM WHO YOU CAN, WHILE YOU CAN!
  • 7th place by LAP 12, 1st place by Lap 13! If not, it can still be close! Be ready to battle!
My run, starting @ 53m &57s:

I used this strategy and got it on the 3rd attempt, Thanks to SZRT Ice. There were some comments about staying to the inside of the track to stop the chasing cars from drafting you which did work but when I ducked back out to take the racing line for the turns they still caught up anyway but the back straight after turn 1 is where it was most effective.

Heres the link to the other page with some others experiences with different strategies also.

I have yet to do this, but I have a question; can you make a tyre- and fuel saving setup? Like minimum downforce and zero toe?

If I remember this nightmare of a challenge correctly, most of the settings are locked for the race.

Just for sharing.... they've fixed this mission with the new update. I have done it 3 times with different cars and won by a big margin every time. I'd say it's more than doable now. Cheers!

I saw a video on YouTube where you just drive straight on into the wall at turn 1 and drop to 4, power straight out of it and the car just rockets out of the first turn.

Easy win that way, won by 6 secs comfortably.

Fuel mixture 1 the whole race and putting when fuel was 0.5. Oh and RS tyres for both stints too.

I 0-stopped the race using Hyundai Genesis Gr.3. , Racing Soft tyres and fuel map 4 to 6 (1.06)

The lap times were arounf 43 seconds.

When it was the Toyota racer concept it was so fun. I actually stayed on the top 10 stars page the whole time. My life is now complete

I can't remember the full settings now, but used the 4C max power. Ran this until around the 11th lap, basically until I needed fuel. Stopped but saved a few seconds by not changing tyres, fuelled for 11 laps (may need less). Won by 2 seconds without having to block.

Usual other stuff, 1st corner braked at 100m, flat out on the 2nd and just lifted slightly for the 3rd.

I have replays for this and Interlagos endurance mission on psn under sloppysmusic . Showing how easy they are after patch.
In the Interlagos one some git even spins me out off the track and I still won!

It took me awhile to do this challenge. I was using the Citroën but it didn't help. Then I switch the Citroën with the Lancer Evo and still not getting anywhere. Finally, I had enough and went to Brand Central and brought the Viper and gold it. I ran out of fuel on the last turn and I had no choice but to block the two A.I. for few seconds.

The Interlagos one was super easy, was infront by the 2nd pit stop and just kept pulling away. Used my trusty 911 RSR. I ran it normally as I prefer playing the missions as intended, but for anyone struggling you can just cut the first corner. Use a bit of fuel saving to get yourself into a position where you can eek out 1 less pit stop.

Blue Moon, learn how to take turn 1, most people brake late and get slower exits, the key is braking early and exiting with speed into the slipstreams as you don't need to lift again until corner 3 (Lift, do not brake).

The Interlagos one you cant choose the car its a Audi R18 I think against group 3 and Gr 1 Cars. Two TS 050's position 1 and 2.

Whoops, in any case I used the 911 for all the garage events and got them all first attempt. Same things goes, you can still cut the first corner.

I managed to get it on the first try. I took the FR1 on hards. I did laps of around 45 seconds.

So I calculated how many laps = how many time. I pitted around 8 minutes left kept the tires and filled it up so i could race for those 8 minutes. Got in first pretty easy but the reason i didnt do the tires was because I forgot..

The right ones where pretty messed up.. So i kept on racing a fast as i could. Then when I was around 10-12 seconds ahead i pitted and changed to SuperSofts. Did not fill up!
I fell back to 4th but thanks to the SS tires i caught up pretty fast. Managed to get back to first in 1,5 laps. Then my gastank was almost empty so changed the fuel to 3 or 4. Had to keep them off off me for half a lap and crossed the line with 0.2 laps to go..

I was pretty pleased with the result and did not expect it.

I did it with Viper.

I started with Medium tyres and 8 minutes left I changed to Hards and filled the gas tank almost full. Fuel Map 1 all the way. I won it with ease though only by 1.5 seconds.

Am I the only one who just jumped in to the Porsche and won without too much effort? Racing Softs, job done...

Subaru WRX Gr.3, Racing Soft tires, Fuel on Power (1), pit stop at the end of the 9th lap, change to medium tires, full tank, and finish the race with 7+ seconds without any trouble.

I did this with the VW Vision Gt car first attempt and I'm absolutely mediocre. Started on Softs and pitted almost exactly halfway through the time due to tyre wear. Put mediums on and filled the tank. Won by about 20 seconds.

Thanks! That made it easy. I could never get anywhere in this race, before. I didn’t even own this Porsche until I read your post. Why did I waste so much time trying it with the Beetle????

I used this strategy and got it on the 3rd attempt, Thanks to SZRT Ice.

I did it very similarly, first attempt after one failed attempt before looking up this thread.

WRX Gr 3
Soft tyres
Pit lap 9, (before lap 10 - by now 5th place)
Filled up full (didn't actually need to as it turned out, two thirds would do)
Switch to Medium tyres
1st place by lap 13 I think
Cruised to victory, never even really challenged.

I did this Mission back in like, December 2017 before the GT League update using the Mustang back when I still used Auto Transmission.
