Bluetime.com?

I noticed in my status tray the other day a connection being made to "bluetime.com". And just now I got a connection time-out error to the same host. Who is this and why is my browser connecting to them when I'm browsing GTPlanet?

I would assume it has something to do with the ads, but I can't narrow it down.

"Bluetime" is the name of the ad serving software used by one of our advertisers, Azoogleads. Their ads are served from bluetime.com, so that's why your browser is connecting to it. I've been getting the error message several times today too, so they must be experiencing server problems today or something.

It's back! Those people need to get their act together. Do you still get paid for ads when their server fails to deliver? What about the irritation to your users?

And what kind of option do we / might we have in the future for a member pay system for pages without ads? (: (: (:

I doubt that I get paid if their server is unable to serve an ad. They are the last advertiser and are given inventory that would otherwise go unpaid. I promise accepting payment to remove ads is near the top of my to-do list, I just need some time. :indiff:

Nope. None. I only have antivirus running, which doesn't block pop-up's and I have my linksys wireless router's firewall. I use IE without any pop-up blocker. I run adaware every once and awhile, but I don't have it live or running all the time like a virus scanner. For some reason right now I don't even have an advertisement at the top of my page.

How strange. IE should give you a message that it can't find the server hosting the ads. Oh well, you're lucky.

I switched computers. I even switched from my grandma's house to my house and it still doesn't have a banner advertisement at the top, just white space. No pop-up ad's either.

I'm also having this same problem on nearly every page I visit on GTP.
I wouldn't call it a problem. I would call it a good thing.

Yeah that message is really starting to tick me off! Ex. I go to another area of the forum and quickley talk to someone on AIM and then all of a sudden while I am typing that damn message comes up!

I got the same thing. I'm runing Zone Alarm Pro

This issue can be stopped! In Firefox, just go to about:config and set browser.xul.error_pages.enabled to true.
