Plantronics Voyager 855
What it is: This is a Bluetooth headset that features an add on extra bud for stereo listening capabilities with your Mp3 feature if you have it on your cell phone. In my case since I have a Bluetooth dongle for my iPod I can use it as wireless headphones. It also has a Multifunction key, Volume button, and a mute button.
What it costs: $120 ($70 shipped New Sealed for me off ebay) Can get for $70 + s&h at Amazon
How long have you owned/used it: I've owned it for two days and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately, it puts me that much closer to being a **** especially if I had an M3.
Pros:
* Sliding the boom mic out provides better audio clarity (as it places the mic closer to the mouth.
* You can slide the boom out to answer calls. Sliding it back in will end the call.
* I haven't seriously tested the batt life but it lasted all day today
* Earbud can be removed to be used as a true mono headset
* Comes with a plethora of earbud insert sizes as well as two different sized ear clips.
* Simple wall charger
* Speaker quality is surprisingly good (not quite Senn CX-300 quality but getting pretty close) My biggest concern
* Compact and Light. The ear piece seems pretty snug and secure with the ear clip on.
* Haven't tried it yet, but can be my PS3 headset - Can be connected to a PS3 and you will get stereo sound if you want edited added, 5/19/08
Cons:
* I don't think this or any in ear device is recommended for heavy movement as you can hear it in ear. - I wear it biking and haven't had any issues. edited added, 5/19/08
* If I'm not wearing it I have to figure out where to carry it without breaking the ear clip and I also have figure out a way to wind up the earbud. - Hasn't broken and is still strong, I thought from me switching out the ear clip it would get weaker, but hasn't. edited added, 5/19/08
*You can't have your C Phone and iPod connected to this headset at the same time. (not that big of a deal and expected) - Actually, you can it will just turn off the ipod when a call comes in. edited added, 5/19/08
Overall Rating: 9/10
Conclusion: I didn't have much enthusiasm for these bluetooth headsets because I didn't know how practical it would be when I'm on the go but this headset's flexibility for doing more than one thing so that it can always be used in different situations. Originally, getting one of these was only because of California's C Phone law which states you must have a handsfree device while in a car (goes into effect in July?). Stupid but, whatever. Anyway, The other big issue I had with a device like this was the quality of the speakers but I'm pleasantly surprised they do pretty well for Headphones with my iPod. This will get a lot of use from me and I definitely recommend them if you're looking for a headset that will do more than just a wireless headset for your C Phone.
Finally, here is Cnet's review and specs
Thanks
Edit: My mom loved mine so much better than here Plantronics headset (ear piece was better) she wanted me to get her one.
