Yup. It's a networking technology that allows devices to interact without all the normal configurability fiddling… for instance, a Bluetooth-enabled computer would be able to "find" a Bluetooth printer, and print through it, without using any cables. It's usually used on cell phones for syncing your cell phone's address book with your computer's.

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows you to connect devices together. Such as cellphones, keyboards, mice, printers, headsets, etc.

For example: you can buy a Bluetooth adapter for your PC and connect your cellphone wirelessly. You can transfer pictures, ringtones, phone numbers, etc., to and from your computer and cellphone.

In terms of objects of desire: The Logitech diNovo Media Desktop.

It's £200, but it's just gorgeous. All the stuff connects via Bluetooth, and it has a media centre controller that connects on a two-way basis to your media player, acting as a remote control. And it connects to a wireless headset for video conferencing.

Wasn't blue Tooth supposed to make all wired connections obsolete?
From what I know it is short wave radio, and can be used to connect anything. But one of the downfalls is it isn't so much an open connection but there is no control over messages sent between mobiles. People in school have said how they sit around in town searching for Bluetooth enabled phones and then send annoying messages to anyone they find. It is called 'Blue Jacking'.

its for wireless communication but because of the usual money-making quibles between big companies where they cant agree whose way is best so they all do their own thing anyway and it flops. its a waste

I have a Bluetooth enabled phone, being able to sync it with my computer (need a BT dongle though) is pretty neat. However, a friend of mine left his bluetooth connection opened and got his with a virus which screwed his phone up..

What's even cooler IS - If you're listening to music, it'll turn down the music and patch the call through your computers headset / mike... And it'll show you incoming SMS messages in the display above the numeric keyboard... It's so geeky I can't believe I never bought a set :)

Yes, looks awesome, been drooling at that Logitech kit for a while. Although I'm hesitating buying it because I often eat in front of the computer so my keyboard tend to clog up after a while, have to clean it now and then. Would feel sad to ruin such an expensive an beautiful keyboard.

:yuck: Nothing but coffee and cigarettes comes near my boxes. Be it the laptop or my gaming rig. If I have to use a keyboard or a mouse with the just the smallest amount of goo on it, I get the worst ticks... That's probably the only place I'm anal about cleaning...

OT. We had your picture framed - Came out very very good !... I'll get a picture soon :D

Adhesive mouse is the way to go. :)

And not to mention the interesting taste you get on your fingers after playing around with it. Just like in real life. :D j/k, I clean the kb/mouse a few times a week to keep it in fairly good condition. The inside of the keyboard is the tough one though, got a logitech ultra-x which won't open at all..
