Nitro doesn't give a blur effect IRL, why would they put it in here ?

Some temporary visual effect when Nitro kicks in could be engaging? Like the temporary effect when emerging from dark tunnels. But quite different.

Its a simulator not Mario Kart. If you hit nitro in real life your vision doesn't change unless you were partying a little too hard before driving.

I take it you're more of a Need for Speed person, OP?
Nitro just gives your car something more combustible to 'breathe' than air, leading to an increase in engine power, you're not going into hyperspace.

There's a world of difference between Nitros fitted to a Cars Engine & being given "Laughing" Gas in A Hospital, just before an operation.

Perhaps the GT series could also incorporate a "Teleport" option....Start the race & teleport to just before the finish line.
Think how your lap times / records would tumble.
