I played this again over the weekend with a friend and now I am level 15. The supercar racing is very fun and it is with A class so much faster paced. The game is so much fun I might even consider buying it now. There is just so much to do and so much to unlock. The only thing that kept me from playing the demo more was the lack of tracks. I am really considering buying this now.

I like it, too.
Very much like a return of good old Need For Speed...

One question tho, and I know it sounds like nitpicking... but, is there any way to turn these little slots for the power-ups behind your car off? Cause since I noticed them I start to drive crappy, I just want to see my shiny car and no ugly, useless squares. ;(

I don't care for them, if I collect power-ups, but when they're empty it's so annoying and useless.

Bit of surprised there is no blur game thread
(only one about the x360 beta).

So anyone hyped for this game? 👍

Seems so far like great fun, Call of Duty meets Mario Kart :)

So is this game out yet?
I really liked the beta until I realised that the stupid boxes behind the cars would never go away... if that be changed I might pick it up, if not, it's their loss not mine. :dunce:
MNR seems to be much more popular...

Only managed a 7 on ign, apparently is rather difficult and overly chaotic. Amazing a Disney game has better ratings than the people responsible for PGR.

I really like this game as well as Split/Second. Both have their positives. As long as you don't expect them to be SIM racers, you'll enjoy them greatly. I have to say the driving is better in S/S.

Having played the S/S demo and the Blur beta I liked the driving physics of Blur much more. In S/S driving seemed very boring and the drifting not appealing.
Blur had the PGR like handling: Accessible but not without depth and sophisticated.

They're supposed to be arcade racers and I find BLUR to be a SIM wannabe, almost. One of the cut scenes in the video has the lady talking about smashing, ramming, and shooting and then she says "don't forget the racing line" or something along those lines. That had me a bit put off. A the same time, driving in S/S seems to require more precision/skill almost. The drifting is quite good in both but you actually have to get it just right otherwise it's just a ton of sideways wall ramming.
I honestly don't remember S/S all that much as it's been BLUR for me for the past 3 or so days since the games seems shorter and easier than S/S.
Blur is easier to pick up and play, more fun, but S/S is more of a challenge to me.

Whoops,
Sorry,
But i DID search "Blur" but it did not come up......
No problem at all. I made the same mistake (if you can call it a mistake) as well, more than once.

If someone decides to buy this game, could he/she tell us/me what it is like?

I have been playing it since Tuesday and its a blast. 20 players on the track at once. Its a mix between Mario Cart and Midnight Club. Very fun.

I have been too busy blowing up people to pay attention to something like that. Pretty much what you see in any demo is what you get in the full game.

Anyone playing the ps3 version of the game who knows if it is possible to play custom soundtracks with youre own mp3's ?

Tried the split second pc demo and I'm not impressed. It's a boring game. I read that Blur is somewhat better than split second but if it's about the same than Blur is, how do you say it in English, a now buy for me.

I rented both game and after playing both for a few hours, I think they both have their strong and weak point. The driving is better in Blur, but special effect and explosion is better in S/S. Also, S/S offers some creative way to play racing game, Blur feels like Mario Kart with nicer graphic.
They're good games but I don't have enough interest in playing them for long so I'm gonna pass on both.

I heard something about this, and I have to say that I am interested in the game. I don't know much about it, but if BC are making it, then it will be worth a look.

It is also nice to see BC back on the Playstation after their sabbatical on the 360. 👍

So, the reviews are raving about the multiplayer bits, is this a really underrated game? I think I'll get it.

I played Blur abit. It's a good game I liked it very much. The physics aint bad for an arcade racer. Oh and the cars have real engine sounds but hard to listen because the "pew-pew" > engine sound

Got this game yesterday. It's extremely fun! Kind of like NFS meets Mario Kart. Haven't tried online yet, but will give this a go later today. 👍

Bizarre delivers a great performance on both platforms and a great PS3 version:

AA on PS3:
On PS3 we actually use regular 2x MSAA, then we then apply a half-pixel offset with bilinear filtering late in the frame to very slightly blur the whole image to remove any remaining unsightly jaggies. We found this to produce a more pleasing result than quincunx.
