Does any1 have any info on the BMW lineup on GT4, im really hoping it includes the E30 M3, probably the best car you can get wit under 300 bhp, ive seen an E30 M3 running 240bhp and it drills a new A4 touring car round the track, the new A4 must be running 300-320bhp. E30 M3's are pure pleasure to drive as well, ive driven 3 different E3's so far, Evo 1 & 2 Evo 2's (still waiting to drive Evo 3 Sport!) Im telling you they are a beautiful drive.

I've heard that license problems means no M BMWs... which sucks because i agree that they're great cars

What license problems? Does somebody have the license for the M series?

this is really deperessing news, i was really hoping gt4 would have the e30 m3, wots the problem with the M/// licence, i would understand if it was a seperate sompany but its just bmws m-tech sports division, just like nissan & nismo. they got amgs & thats really a totally different company from mercedes. i hope they get more european sports cars, the Audi COupe Quattro would be great. I hope they bring venturi back as well, the atlantique LM was awesome in gt2.

Maybe the magical a4 with the NA v8 in it, that weighs 2800 pounds... The 3.2 V6 would be the largest thing i could see going in an A4, and that would net around 240-260. Which is not enough to really motivate a 3400 pound car + gas + driver.

Comparing the new M3 to the sew S4 though, well, no car magazine to date has not chosen the S4(that i know of). That about summs it up.

But what i really want to in the game is a URQ(Coupe Quattro/Quattro) or a Sport Quattro. It would be nice to see a AWD car in the game with power oversteer, speaking of which, some of the newer model S4's do quite nicely.

I suppose as they used RUF in replacement of Porsche they could use hamann for BMW. But i thought RUF made the porsches, whilst hamann just tune, i believe. But we can hope anyway

RUF replaces 75% or more of the parts in the Porshes they tune, and so are considered a manufacturer, dont know about Hamann

Don't be fooled, it's all about $$$. Ruf came cheaper than Porsche, so they went with Ruf. If GT wants to extend their BMW selection to the M-class, they can. Hamann does awesome work on BMWs and Ferraris, but it seems they can't sign off on their tuned models like Ruf can. :(

Can you prove that? Actual evidence? I read myself in PSM that PD still couldnt get liscensing on Porche and that RUF will once again be the only way we can enjoy the flat 6....

im fairly sure that PD couldnt get Porsche so that had too use RUF instead

We went through this in another thread, and it just doesn't make sense that anything but money is the reason why GT doesn't include Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos etc... These manufacturer names show up in way too many other titles to think GT is an exception. I used to buy the exclusive licence reasoning, but that doesn't pan out when you really think about it.

How does EA's NFS have an "exclusive" deal with Ferarri when MS has some of the exact same Ferrais models in PGR? Why is it that the Lotus Elise can appear in every racing game on Earth, but the BMW M3 can't? Why can the BMW 330i be in GT, but not the M3? Money is the only logical reason I can come up with.

I'll still be the first one in my zip code to buy GT4 though. :D

Here's what I heard:

- EA has an exclusive licence from Ferrari, just like Mattel (Hotwheels) has for the scale-models.

- Microsoft has put enough $ on the table to buy off that licence for PGR.

- PD doesn't like to pay much for the licences, but it has enough manufacturers that would pay themselves to get into the game. That's why it's not surprising that there are so much Toyotas in the game, because they were the first that saw how good it could be for theyre image, so they cooperated with the game from the start of the series.

So I guess BMW and other Euro manufacturers have got a better image as sporty brands, so they don't need to be in the game for it and so they can ask money for theyre licences.

I have heard from interviews on Speed Channel and now a piece today on X-Play that most car manufactures love the GT game series because putting a car in the game can equal a years worth of advertising.

So much talk about the Clio Race Car in GT2 and GT3 have Renault thinking about returning to America. Makes me wonder why some car manufactures still want money to put their car in the game.:D

man i hate all BMWs.
theyre toooooo slow for me

Bmw's are too slow for you? Take a look at this picture, this car is still and still looks so fast it makes you feel nautious. And can i have some real opinions on the car, in my mind, this is one of the best looking cars ever, the car combines so many things to look so good.

If you disagree, lemme know what & why.

Edit: almost forgot what i really wanted to write- Anyone got updated info on the position on the BMW ///M licence? I want E30 ///M3!

The E30 M3 is a great car (the S14 is a great engine too). I'd kill for an E24 633, 635 or /// M6 in the game. The M1 would be great too. I have a bad feeling that we aren't going to get any ///M cars though.

I saw an M3 somewhere

The sole BMW in the game will be the current Compact.

Sorry!

Noone knows for sure what the position with bmw is and no one will know itill some hard facts come out...sorry.

so you say that m3 looks better than my rx-7? sry is the pic quality is bad..

hmmm, the M3 looks better. Dont get me wrong, i love the old RX7's, in black they just look amazing, but for a car that old, the M3 has more to offer in the looks department, it looks just like a race car, wide and aggressive but yet its smooth and refined. Its just got it all.

Yazza you are being too nice with that guy. His RX-7 is just plain ugly compared to that M3.

Speaking of BMW models that could be in the game... Did you see the list of cars which were tested in Motegi for GT4?

BMW:
Z4 3.0i
X5 4.6i
Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper S
M3 SMG2

Although to me the Mini doesnt count as a BMW, there is still 3 BMW models there. Im sure they will bring the 330i as thats been the only BMW constant from GT2 to GT3 (although it was 328i previously). Im still hoping they will have all generations of M3 cars though. Would take up less space than 15 Skylines.......

I'm not a fan of bmw, but The E30 and E36 M3s were definitely the better M3s. The latest ones have moved too much away from sheer racing to luxury and user friendlyness (although the powerbump meant that the latest one is faster). The next gen will probably gay ass bangle style I'm afraid.

For that time I supposed it looked pretty cool, but I prefer modern sports cars. Performance was also good back then but I've seen it being out paced by hot-hatches too many times during track days.

If they can't get any M powered cars they better at least have the E36 328i (with a M3 style spoiler on the back of it) that way at least we'll have something that looks a lot like a BMW M car (I don't mean the tall M3 spoiler but the short one that's hardly noticeable when you look at the car from a distance).
And they better have the 540i that has the sport package on it that makes it look like the M5 from the front.
Or maybe put that tuned E46 3Series car that I think is tuned by Alpina
It's not an E46 M3 I know that, but the car is still fast
I'll try and get a pic of it and the 540i sport as well as a pic of the style spoiler i'm talking about

Oh ya and also they better have the Z8 and also the Alpina version of the Z8 as well but if they won't put both in then I won't mind settling for just one of them

Chris Bangle is single-handedly destroying the future of BMW. The new 5-series has got to be one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen. You can chop off the front end and put it on a Pontiac Grand Am and no one would know the difference. It looks even worse from the back. Bangle is turning BMWs into these anonymously styled cars without any traditional BMW styling cues.
