Anyone getting anxoius to get the preparation for this contest going? So far it looks like GTP and GT.de are the best candidates for hosting the competition because of resources and memeber numbers. I'd love to see the competition held mid to late summer, when everyone seems to have the most time to enjoy the competition and I'm sure most others will agree. So far I havn't seen much of anything about getting this moving. Post in here if you have any interest of BC5 being held this summer 👍.

nice idea Ben ;)
I thought exactly the same...a BC around summer time would be ideal for the big free time it'll take me
let's start things going :D

What's this all about? How were the previous 4 organized?

I'll will see what happens.

Though remeber ben there are many other countries apart from USA. Summer for you doesnt mean holidays for everybody ;). I dont mind however and think its the best time to host it.

i would love to participate in this

the best-of-the-best will be here

MMMM Board Challenge , sounds interesting, I have no idea what its about :)
anyone care to fill us noobs in ? thanks 👍

Steve

ok

roughly 9 - 10 GT board (yes there are that many) put together 9 - 10 of there fastest guys and race.

2 members from each team will do a race (10 or 9 races) and each member does 2 races. you get points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. At the end of the races all the points are added up to see what forum has the most, and thus become the BC champion.

The biggest of the big in GT OLR :D

Each of the major GT boards (9 or 10 boards, iirc) around the world field a team of 10 or so drivers, and compete in a series for world domination! :scared: :trouble:

The competition goes on for a month or so, and when the dust settles, we all see who comes out on top. The BC's attract the best of the best ... to give you an idea, Holl or hOt6o4bOi, who are the class of the field here would have a reasonable shot at winning a BC race. Not probably, not a pretty good chance ... a reasonable chance.

GTP came in somewhere in the middle of the pack at BC4, I believe.

EDIT: Dion, you beat me to it

I'm interested in running in BC5. I won't win a race, but I think I'd make a pretty decent support racer 👍

I'm interested. 👍

Thanks Small_Fryz & Luxy, with my speed it's obviously something I wont have to worry about :) 👍 .

Yet. :trouble:

I'd love to see you guys race in this and would follow it properly.

I'd like to be h0t's water girl and cheerleader. :)

hehe umbrella girl too!?

hope to meet ya soon Nat, i might drive up to the Portland meet you guys are having!

Wow this sounds cool. I would definitely be interested in ... detailing your cars. If u need someone to bring up the rear, i'm definitely fast enough to do that! :)

On a side note, does anyone have any links to past BC's and their results?

Here's a results thread from BC4: BC4 Results

As you can see by the results, EVERY fast guy on earth is there :scared:. If you can even get a place in the top 5 you are incredible, yet alone winning one of these things :nervous:.

Wow.. that's pretty scary. Don't believe I'm quite fast enough to be a support driver, otherwise I'd be quite interested.

Thank you very much. All those multilap races look intimidating. Consistency is the hardest thing ever!

It sure is! BC races are some of the most intense races you'll ever do.
The pressure a racer has to perform well is immense and you need nerves of steel :D

I think GTP have an even stronger chance than last time of doing well, lots of new very very fast drivers! 👍

hey, i'd love to do it. let me know when its on.

All the drivers in the BC need support. During BC4 I was able to provide testing for GT3Times in race 9 for XtremeD63 (he ran a brilliant 3rd). My testing consisted of finding the best starting technique for the car and to find what combination of AI cars provided the best chance to get into and through turn 1 cleanly. I bet I restarted more than a hundred races and ran 400m and 1000m times just as much. Probably gave a good 10 hours spread over many days testing the starts.

The BCs are a great place to see the best do their best. But, they don't do it alone. It's one of the few times you'll see the team mentality displayed in OLR.

Just a bit more on BC4 for those that want more info:

I wasn't fast enough to make it on the GT3Time's BC4 team, but I did provide support where I could.

I am not sure what GTP did, but the GT3Times board ran a qualifying event in order to determine who was on the team. The qualifying combos were submitted and voted on by all entrants. I think there were close to 20 people trying to get into 10 spots on the team. It took about a month to determine the team at GT3Times. Our captain was chosen and team members were chosen. Then it was a week or so before the actual BC started. Just qualifying for the team was all the intensity I needed.

There was quite a long discussion on the rules for BC4 and the writing of them took much effort. The rules are amazingly thorough and complete.

The racing is intense and the times people ran are astounding.

It's true... HotBoi and Hol would have a chance at standing on a podium in a BC, not a good chance, but a chance. There are some amazingly fast drivers out there.

And, yes I am proud to have been part of the effort that gained GT3Times a 2nd place finish in BC4!

Hope you all enjoy the next BC. I encourage everyone who has the time to give an effort toward it.

I'm interested. 👍

Me too... interested in watching from a safe distance :scared:

@Canoe: Thanks for that. I would definitely be interested.

You forgot to mention one thing that always happens in a board comp...

Lots of nice friendly discussions about the rules ;)

lol i'll say it right now, that i will get atleast 1 win for gtp

That's funny. No offense or anything, but to show you just how fast everyone is going in a BC vs. a weekly challenge, try to run the same combo as a BC3 or BC4 race and see how close you come to first.

It's a whole new world of fast.

Oh, and I'm considering it, not sure if I have the time/energy to devote to another BC atm.
