Bob and the pick-up challenge

Can anyone give me some advice on how to get bob to win the Daytona pick-up race?

My bob insists on breaking thus losing all momentum and ends up finishing anywhere from 4th to 12th

I used a Dodge RAM which I also used for A-Spec.
This time though, I just tuned EVERY SINGLE THING to the max.
Bob won comfortably once out in front.
But as we all know, Bob is useless at overtaking.
